Currently looking at the MX4 and Diamondback Switchback covers. I know they are a little different in purpose but the price is not much more.

I also recently found a Diamondback HD of FB for about the same price of the MX4. Just not sure if I will miss the full bed opening with it when I might need it.

I have the diamondback switchback, the OG version. Their new version is much lighter. I like it because it lets me retain 5th wheel capability and is easily removable.

I was still able to self install the OG variant. Lifetime warranty, almost two years and it still looks brand new.

I have the Diamondback HD on a long bed and the combination is ideal for keeping the center panel on (removing the front and back panels is easy. Here are two picks. The first is a cubic yard of material with the back panel flipped up. The second is the front panel raised to access the winch I installed in the bed.
I love the durability and utility of the HD.

Can you flip up the back panel and latch it down to drive? They only show you taking it off on the website.

If you remove the gas struts (easy) the back panel lies flat. I’ve secured the panel to the tie downs with straps. Just make sure it can’t get loose as it could become a sail.

I have the Peragon Tectonic. It works great for me. Secure and water-tight and comes off in like a minute if you need full use of the bed full hauling crap.

I’ve been impressed with the GMC retractable bed cover (GM #19433453) on my truck. It handled an accidental trip through a car wash like a champ—only a tiny bit of water at the rear corners, and everything else inside stayed perfectly dry!

On that topic - switchback isn't 100% waterproof. Speaking for myself and another buddy that has it on a tundra. There's a fix but it requires some drilling to get the panels closer in.

I love the retrax cover for quick in and out. The t slots on the side allow me to put what ever I need above it. It’s not a hundred percent water proof but pretty close. If I did the bed / tailgate seal I think that would help the most.

I love my Diamondback HD and its 100% waterproof and with the addition of tailgate seal, its now almost 100% dustproof as well.

I have a BakFlip MX4, I had one on my 2024 Elevation and moved it to the 2025 AT4 when I went diesel but for some reason it wouldn't lock on the passenger side. After some back and forth with Real Truck they decided I needed a new top. All I had to do was once it was installed was drill a few holes in the old top and send them a photo. Now that's customer service. I couldn't be happier and the new top works great.

This is my second Diamond Back. I had one on my 2009 GMC prior to this truck. I did not get the HD but I still haul a lot on top and never have had an issue. Also have never had a leak.

Good looking rig! Just out of curiosity what brand of tire are you running.
Thank you..
That was a pic from last year. Those were the factory Good Year's. I did a Rough Country leveling kit, air bags in the back, and Rough Country mud flap eliminators which allowed me to install Toyo Open Country 275 60R 20's.
