Banks oil pan at the dealership.

What Mr Banks does not explain in his marketing campaign is the engineering behind the OEM design. Banks pan drains all the fluid including what is in the pickup. OEM design leaves enough oil in the sump to keep pickup saturated with oil and preventing pickup from fully draining. Banks design the pickup drains fully and you are waiting for oil to be pumped back into it after filling pan back up.
Since ordering my truck I've watched an incredibly stoopid amount of vids - Daves, Banks, many others. Some things make sense, some things seem to make sense until you see something like the post I quoted. It's sure easy to hate on the manufacturers and dealers, especially when you look at the stock pan and Banks. I never considered that GM could have a good reason for doing what they do. Whether they're right or Banks is I really have no idea. But after watching many vids Banks reminds me of an old time huckster pedaling his stuff everywhere.

I had the same issue with the large PPI pan... Dealer claimed it was the issue for bad transmission shifting, and that may not be covered under warranty.... HOWEVER, when you go to the GM site, they sell an oversize / large capacity oil pan thru GM direct. I was like WTF. In the end, it was a bad trans body that was covered but a week of back and forth BS calls. Once I got the truck back, I then went to remove the pan ( to avoid any future issues) and reinstall the OEM pan, and found the pan leaking and loose pan bolts.. Dealerships suck!!!
