What you mean behind the door? I wonder if it was because I had tech package on it?

My 21 is the ultimate trim package and a carbon pro w/diesel. The puddle lights just shine straight down, under the mirror. The puddle lights don't illuminate behind the door. No way they would help lighting anything in reverse.
I like that. I do lake fishing although prefer surf fishing like I did back in NJ however there's no surf here in Puget Sound in PNW. RCs, now you're speaking my language, been flying RC planes, mostly scale and pattern, since the 70's. I purchased the AT4X AEV, 6'10" bed, is a perfect length for my 2Meter plane fuselages. Recently got into a drone , the DJI AIR 3S and it's amazing although I'm still getting used to it; was fun chasing my family surfing while we were in San Diego all of last week. I was flying barely 15'-20' above the water/waves due to frequent low flying air traffic right over beach areas.

Beats me. My in-law has a 21 trail boss I wonder if his light up in reverse. I’ll have to check when I get a chance. Mine would light up the ground and it would give off enough light for the mirror cameras to at least see what’s next to me. Not passed the doors but it was enough to have visible sides unlike now where it’s pitch black.
I find it strange that yours didnt lol. Mine came from the factory like that. It would light up the ground and the side mirror cameras would be able to see at night just like they do during the day. I dont know if it was part of the technology package or some other package but it was really convenient for early morning kayak fishing trips where the road is narrow so every bit of visibility was great.
I guess im being nit picky and got spoiled with that so now it dirves me insane that it doesnt do that anymore and its bugging the hell out of me lol.

Welcome to the X side of things! I do a bit of RC as well, but stick mainly to crawlers.
I don't recall my puddle lights coming on in Reverse....on my '24 AT4X or my '21 AT4. I do have the Boost Auto dual function cargo light mod though and it helps quite a bit. Of course it would help a lot more if my truck weren't sitting at the dealer waiting for a new engine.....
Im curious, did you have the tech package on your 21 AT4? Ive been searching the internet up and down trying to figure out what it was or how to fix that. I guess the boost auto cargo light mod would work i would just have to find the actual wire for the little light under the mirror thats beside the camera.
My son is into RC car racing; I got him started at an early age; he won more races and medals than I care to remember. He’s 37 now, lives in Vegas and he’s still winning races.

Thats sick. I never got a nitro car but I love the sound of them. I mainly do FPV drone flying but now that I have a son that loves cars I got tired of constantly buying cheap little amazon cars that he breaks in a week and its off to the dumpster. Bought a decent basher that i can at least replace parts on and we have been having fun with them in the yard.

Yes my '21 had the Technology package. And it may have very well activated the puddle lights in reverse...I just never noticed. I don't believe my '24 AT4X does, though.
Boost Auto also had a mod for ALL lights to work while driving, including the mirror spots.

Oh I do love the sound/smell of a good nitro car.....but keep the damn thing properly tuned....I gave up after my HPI Nitro RS42 and went electric

Oh I noticed on the first day I got the truck home and was backing up in the driveway. That’s what my sides look like and on the 21at4 I was able to see the sides at night. That’s why I’m salty about it and trying to figure out a solution
