The good - truck rides remarkably well, off-road tires are not noisy at all (yet?), no squeaking or rattling. Fun to drive and every remote start in sport mode puts a grin on my face.
The bad - head unit loses connection to iPhone / Apple CarPlay - I am told they are working on a solution.
The ugly
- planned to do a leveling kit to prepare for 295/70 - feedback in the AT4 forum on 1.5” RL kit and the manufacturer showing “don’t use 4H” put a stop to that. Seems I can run the 295/70 without mod anyway (thanks to AT4 forum again)
Airbags - based on feedback here I looked for the Air Lift 5000 kits with a compressor. Got a quote, but they will install the compressor on the frame under the truck - I don’t trust any compressor to survive or operate reliably there. Searching for an alternative I always come back to the ARB dual compressor I have on another vehicle, but don’t think there is room to install it under the hood. Still undecided if I go the portable compressor route or install it in the truck bed.
Getting a little frustrated with all of the above, I went and looked for some nice Baja lights for the AEV bumper, surely there must be a kit with pnp harness and bracket to integrate seamlessly - yeah no, doesn’t look like. Well let’s look at the rear of the truck and put an end to the flimsy reverse lights. Yeah, unless you “drill baby drill” there is nothing slick either. So I compromise to a VLEDS bar (thanks AT4 forum) and guess what FedEx screwed up the shipment….I guess this truck wants to stay stock.
But a big shoutout to the forum - you saved me so much time of research and frustration and I really appreciate it.
