6.2 Blew Up: Decision Time - Keep or Buy?

I have the 3.0 LZ0 and have about 4500 miles on it. Within the first 1500 miles I had to check engine lights, both were for the NOX sensor, there are two of them. It has been great since then and you can drive with a bad NOX sensor it just decreases your fuel mileage. I drove from Holbrook AZ to Sierra Vista AZ, 337 miles, on half a tank of diesel. It is the best on fuel mileage. It is not the fastest for passing when you are at highway speed but it gets the job done. In town I average about 22 MPG when it is not in REGEN. I love this motor. I had a thought of trading in mine for a 2024 AT4X AEV edition but the dealership only has them in the 6.2 and I have never heard anything good about them minus the power.
I don't love the 3.0 so far in "Normal" drive mode, but it's pretty good in "Sport" mode. Switching between the two modes doesn't seem to have much effect on the gas mileage either. All things considered, I'm pretty happy with the babymax too.

I traded my 2019 GMC AT4 6.2L 90K miles just in time. It was progressively drinking more oil and CE light was coming and going. It was only a matter of time before the engine went. I went HD.

Good call TripleB. Those HD's are awesome looking rigs....extemely disappointing to hear this is still happening. A ticking time bomb ? Or luck of the draw ? My 2018 Sierra Denali 1500 6.2 never game a single problem. The rear window defroster was the only recall if I remember as I no longer own it. Nothing worse than this happening unexpectedly and being out of warranty, which I'm sure many owners of these trucks have had to foot the bill for a whole engine....really sucks.

Joe98, I believe the 1/2 tons are being built with cheaper and cheaper parts knowing most don't work hard.
