Ok. This thing has been a pita in the last few months...

23 lzo bought new (1000 dealer miles) and curren5ly has 49k.

Just did a trans service, dealer warranty work to include: fuel pump module, front seal and oil pan gasket. All within a few k miles from the same dealer that I purchased and have serviced the majority with.

Was driving 55 - 60mph when a bang was felt, like someone hit me in the rear, followed by a loss of power and metallic chirping or sqeaking. I pulled over and shut it down.

Currently sitting for a tow. GM fought me about towing it to the dealer that just did all the work because it was 3 miles outside of the 25 miles. Lmao. What a joke. Pretty disappointed in GM. Truck is babied.

Anyone have a stab? Thrust bearing even though its a '23?

Got time to kill, humor me lol.

Edit: I will add NO CEL at the time I shut it down. But I did it rather quick.

Sounds like the tranny dropped to a real low gear (someone hit me from behind).

That is what was first reported, that started the whole 10speed fiasco. The tranny would drop to a lower gear locking up the rear axle at highway speeds.

gm re-wrote software that once the computer detected the bad spool valve, it would not allow to shift above 5th gear.

Rythmic metallic chirping / sqeaking after. No movement, just at idle. I moved it off the road after I called the dealer. It did start and move on its own but didnt feel right at all.

Was dropped at the dealer this afternoon. They have it in thier system to diagnose tomorrow. We shall see....

Its too bad these trucks have so many issues. Im not expecting a perfect vehicle but the issues have been plenty for ta new 70k vehicle. Shame. Im a Toyota guy and thought I dodged a bullet with not buying a tundra, now not so sure.

I'm thinking bad valve body? Maybe improper fill procedure when they serviced it last. Could be lots of things. And unfortunately you can't buy anything new and reliable anymore in the 1500 platform. Gotta go 2500 gas for semi decent reliability.

I should have seen the writing on the wall when the "chrome" peeled off the grill at 10k miles. Lol.

If the refresh was out when I was in the market I would have bought a 3/4...couldnt see spending all that money in '23 for an immediately outdated truck.

Life has its ways I guess.

Every person that has had a tundra with problems says the same thing you are. Ive never met someone or talked to them on the internet that has had car problems and doesn’t say the same thing. Internet has allowed us to magnify anecdotal experiences. We definitely have problems with these trucks but so does everyone else buying other vehicles from different makes. I hope they get you back together and you have a few hundred thousand trouble free miles.
