'23 6.2 engine owners...

From what i've seen of the few people who post about having disabled AFM/DOD, it doesn't affect gas mileage in a noticeable way. So I see no reason NOT to do it. Peace of mind is worth paying for in my opinion.

As for the delete "kit", it's not a kit. You pull the cam and lifters and replace them with normal lifters and plug a few holes. It's a shitload of work in these newer vehicles. Not a job for the average tinkerer. There's a great video on youtube where a buy does the whole thing one step at a time. Watch that before you consider this "nuclear" option.

Do they do anything to change the electronic side (reprogram, getting rid of the solenoids that apply/release oil pressure)?

Only way I would consider going that route would be if it fails again after warranty and I'm stuck footing the repair bill anyway.

I've been driving in L9 for a couple weeks now. As far as I understand, it prevents DFM from activating. What I've read is there are some bore size discrepancies with the lifters as well. So it seems there are at least a couple factors in play.

The not-a-recall states it is a lifter bore size problem but does not mention the lifters themselves locking up.

As for deleting the system, I don't recall all the details but it's worth watching the video to get some good education in any case.

What is this delete kit you speak of? Has someone come out with something?
Sorry, “Delete kit” is just a term. Its way more involved as a weekend project for me. I would have an experienced garage do the work.

I have my 2019 6.2 AFM turned off with a tuner and Im happy and hopeful it will be enough to keep me safe. I have done this to all my newer GM trucks without problems so hopefully it will continue like this.
