Depends on what the check engine light is for, some will automatically clear when power is cycled but some need to be manually cleared with a reader / scan tool or by disconnecting the battery.Turned my truck on at 1 degree. The engine light appeared and my app related issues with the fueling system. After 30 minutes I took it for a ride, it stuttered for a second and continued accelerating normal. Day later it warmed up to 12 degrees shouldn't the engine light automatically disappear.
I just had a P04fb (crank case pressure out of bounds) that is commonly caused by the crank case pressure sensor being obstructed due to moisture / ice buildup on the sensor. After temps warmed up and the truck was running normally I had to manually clear the code.
