2023 AT4X Muffler Delete gone wrong

Did you just delete the muffler or the 2 rear resonators also? Videos make the muffler delete seem just right and not to loud but I don’t want drone and that seems to be a common complaint with the muffler delete.

Yes, definitely a lot of drone with the muffler delete. I removed just the muffler and left the 2 rear resonators. It’s very loud. It does sound mean which is great but I’m still trying to figure out what muffler to buy and have installed to lessen the cabin noise. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the feedback about the drone. I definitely don’t want that. Seems like muffler delete with resonators has a good idle and throttle noise but is prone to drone which we all don’t want. I’ve had good history with magnaflow mufflers. Not to loud and no drone. I would love a borla type s but don’t know if I want to gamble 1500 and not know if I can live with it on long trips.

I am having the same issue, I have a 2020 denali with the 6.2, 6'7 bed and had a local shop remove the muffler and flapper and put in a super 10. I left the resonators in as I don't want the drone either, I pull a trailer quite often. The super 10 had drone when cruising, in 9 and 10 under very little load. It had a crazy drone pulling a trailer. Went back and had them do a super 40, as this was less aggressive. Sounds very close to the super 10, has less drone, but still more than what I'd consider comfortable especially if driving more than an hour.

I'm not sure what to do now, I'm half tempted to have the stock muffler put back in, or try a borla cat back and hope for no drone. I pull a trailer too often, and on longer trips so trying to get the sound without the drone.
