2022 6.2L with 27K needs new brake pads and rotors

Got the 'Service Brake Monitor' message a couple weeks ago on my 2022 6.2 with 22,000 miles. I pulled all 4 wheels and the pads looked good to me, so I took it to the dealer to see what was going on. Inner front rotors rusted and are wearing the inner pad, still serviceable, but will need addressed this fall. Said due to low miles, short trips and moisture. Rears (and outer front) are still 80%. I did some research and found that Raybestos Element 3 are highly recommended. I do tow (short trips) a decent amount also.

Just want to know if anyone else is having or had a similar issue with their brakes?
I have a 2022 refresh AT4 with the 6.2L and just had to replace my rotors and pads after 27K. My brake settings said I still had over 90% life both front and rear and that has never been reset. The dealer said they were so badly pitted and rusted they needed to be completely replaced and I'm pissed. My vehicle never sits without being driven and it is always immaculately maintained, I find it hard to believe the quality of components is that bad they basically disintegrate after that short of time. I think it's bullshit that I have to spend $1600 on new brake pads and rotors with a truck I've owned since new for 2.5 years. I also researched that "OEM" brake parts are the best quality and should have 36-month warranty and coverage. I don't expect brakes to last forever but I have never had to put brakes on a vehicle this early in its life. My local GM dealer is saying there is no warranty on brakes and that they are just a wear-and-tear item. Sent GM customer service an email and after checking with the dealer they said I am responsible for the full cost and they won't do anything to help. Horrible service from GM and my dealer, not impressed.

My 2015 Denali needed brakes all around at 45k miles- they were a mess like yours. Then I had a 2020 Denali that came with the Brembo brake option -they were whipped at 42k miles and even doing them myself, cost me over $1,000 bucks for rotors, with no aftermarket option available. Funny part was that both rotors looked fine on the outside, by the backsides looked like the surface of the moon😂
