🔥 New AT4 Ultimate Owner

I just learned two things:

1- there is an AT4 ultimate
2- it can come with nigh vision (whatever that means in a vehicle)
I live out on the outskirts of where suburbia meets mountainous rural, and we've got A LOT of deer pretty much all year long.

Its not crazy good night vision like what's hanging up in my closest, but for being built into a vehicle that's moving at 65+ mph, it's pretty damn crisp & clear.

Welcome and congrats! SO essentially....this is the AT4X version of the Yukon......My wife is going to be sooo jealous!!!

Wtf...I thought I was quite privy to the options these babies had. I pay attn to everything auto, but this is the absolute first time I've heard of an AT4 Ultimate, first time hearing of a GM vehicle with auto-park, and first time hearing of any night vision badassness. Initially when I read "auto-park" I thought it was just going into park by itself, once parked. Nope, this mofo is parking itself. 🤯🤯

GM has had it a long time. Our 2017 Cadillac Escalade had self parking, reverse in, parallel. Pull up next to an opening, hit the button and it did the rest. They are finally just using it down to other models. Makes sense they are going to Denali Ultimate and AT4 Ultimate next, then it will keep moving down.

Yeah, I hear you. I just have never heard of anyone mention it, which I find surprising as I thought I was hip to all things gm. 🤷, Welp more options to look forward to for next vehicle!

Or crap to quit!

I am with you. In 6 years I never used the self parking feature and it is just one more thing to fail. I played with it once and pulling up to a spot, then stopping to hit the self parking feature, then waiting for it took longer than just parking. I never used it again.

I guess kind of like the lane assist. I keep it off in my AT4X. There are just too many times I want to be near or on the line to either see, or avoid something in the road. I hate the feel of the steering trying to do something I don’t want it to do. So just leave that turned off.

Some of these things seem like a good idea then once you have them just don’t end up being a benefit.

Our Lexus GX has the self driving feature. Even when you select the shortest following distance it stays just too far back from the car in front. It is just the exact distance that is too much so when you are in the fast lane in a line of cars everyone try’s to drive up on the right lane then cut infront in the gap. People see the little extra distance in front then speed up to cut in. Stopped using the self driving mode because of that. It can drive fine, speed up, slow down, stop, but I am happier just driving the car.

I got a bunch of deer whistles I need to install. They were fairly effective on my previous suv.

It seems to take alot of patience when having and using these convenience options, some I have others I don't, definitely more things to go wrong.

How can you be sure? My Dad used to say he did a great job of keeping the alligators out of the local lake. The proof? There were no gators there. It was in Illinois.
