Hello all, this is my second AT4. First one bought new but sold it right before retirement in order to lower my monthly debts until my pension kicked in. Regretted it since.

Yesterday, I had a ‘23 AT4 delivered but Carvana after a delay to repair/replace the coolant control valve. They claimed they replaced CCV but I honestly don’t trust them.

We drove 1.5 hours home and noticed the engine temperature normal (about an 1/8” left of center on the indicator). We made a stop at the grocery store and when we left the store we noticed coolant dripping from under the truck particularly under the skid plate.

Cue me in on what this could be please.

I was thinking that maybe they didn’t vent/burp the system after replacing the CCV and after turning off the engine it burped air and coolant from the reservoir as the little black tube was somewhat wet.

Today, I drove to Walmart and it worked normally. No leak at Walmart’s parking lot. Drove home, went inside ate lunch, went outside and noticed a puddle on the ground.

What could be causing a random leak?

Thanks.

You should still have factory warranty. Take it in to the dealer. And my honest suggestion - give it back to Carvana or trade it in for a 2500 gas truck.

There are many different things that could be leaking and it's impossible for anyone to guess without looking at it in person.

Diesels come with a ton of emission control trash and if you aren't aware and don't monitor - you're going to have a ton of problems. 1500s aren't known for reliability and anyone that asks me I sincerely suggest for them to stay far away.

GM gas HD, Ford gas HD, 21 or older Tundra (the V8 variant) or a Nissan titan if you're stuck on 1500 platform is all I suggest nowadays.

Can’t return it. Trust me, I would had I not paid $1990 non refundable shipping fee.

I think I found the problem. I followed the leak up to the radiator hose that attaches to the CCV. Whoever installed it didn’t get the clamped on correctly. Notice where the clean black marks are (where the clamp is supposed to be) vs where it is now. Half the clamp is off the hose.

I will get it fixed tomorrow.
