1500 AT4 aftermarket wheels and tires - what do you have?

Been a few months since I got this done to my truck and been meaning to share with he community. A big THANK YOU to everyone on this forum and in this thread.

I have many mods and upgrades to do but wanted to share my experience with slapping on new shoes on my 2025 Sierra AT4X 3.0 minimax.

GM says the calipers are too large for anything under 18". Not true. Some wheel manufacturers make some 17s that will fit. Just check their websites and filter for your truck.

I did so much research. The blue light at night for weeks straight def disrupted my sleep pattern and made my girl even more annoyed with me 😂

looked through 100s of wheels and picked the Black Rhino Diamondback 17s" in burnt bronze bc I noticed the grill and Duramax side emblems have a beautiful dark bronze color to them so these matched. Even the grey brushed steel textured interior pieces has a slight bronze hue to it if you look close enough. These have a -20mm offset. Desired a slight tire poke with the factory lift. Achieved it without much chopping at all. Just needed to trim a small bit of the mud flap with a small piece of metal. Looks OE. Might get it leveled but I like to keep my functionality of towing without squat. If I level, I will also stash some of those rubber suspension cushions in the garage.

Did so much tire research and I picked 35s Micky Thompson Baja Boss over nitto, BF, falken. Just trust me. Although, falken was a close 2nd. These tires look great and I like the now chaotic sidewall. Looks more aggressive and I am sure are better in functionality.

Before trimming the small bottom inch of the mudflap attached by a tiny metal connector bracket (see second photo), it rubbed a little about 3-4 inches above the very bottom of the mud flaps. Now they clear it and it's rare to rub. Sounds like it's on the top wheel well only (I think) if I drive up a steep surface fast. Very easy to live with but still might level if my shop says it will help. If anyone has an idea how to rectify this rub location outside leveling of lifting, I am all ears and would appreciate it.

Tires clear UCA by half inch. Rear of front tires clears back of wheel well/mudflap by quarter inch. Would like a little more for both but hasn't been problematic. My tire poke is about an 1.5-2 inches. Rides great. Quiet and smooth. Maybe 1 or 2 mpg less mpg. I'm going 66.5 -67mph when my speedometer says 65.

I am not the best at taking photos but let me share some.

I hope this helps y'all. created an acct just to share and help out so DM me if you need me or reply here!

Shout out to Original Wheels and Tires for being so knowledgeable, flexible and patient with me. We had a very easy and fast experience. Best customer service and great pricing

I had narrowed it down to a dozen, then a half dozen but the black rhino diamondback 17s" in burnt bronze popped out after clearning all the distractions. I didn't even know the grill and Duramax side emblems have a beautiful dark bronze color to them so these wheels were meant to be! Even that grey brushed steel textured interior pieces has a slight bronze hue to it if you look close enough. These wheels have a -20mm offset. I really dreamt for a slight tire poke and a 2-3" lift for years. Achieved it without much chopping at all. Just needed to trim a small bit of the mud flap with a small piece of metal. Looks OE. Of course, the truck comes with 2" from stock. Might get a level but I like to keep my functionality of towing without squat. If I level, I will also stash some rubber suspension cushions.

Some people say the MTs are ugly but what do they know about what's sexy, really? These tires look great and I like the random patterned sidewalk. Looks more aggressive and I am sure are better in functionality.

Before trimming a small piece of the bottom inch of the mudflap with a tiny metal connector bracket (see second photo), it rubbed a little 3-4 inches above the very bottom of the mud flaps. Now, they clear it and I only rub very very seldom on the top wheel well only (I think) if I drive up a steep surface fast and it seldom rubs at that. Very easy to live with but still might level if my shop says it will help. If anyone has an idea how to rectify this rub location outside leveling of lifting, I am all ears and would appreciate it.

Nice! I think 17s look great on these trucks. Good write up as well 👍
And welcome!

Finally made the change from the stock Goodyear's and could not be happier! I went with the KO3's in 275-65-20 and they fit and look great. Can't believe i put up with all the road noise for so long.

For those that have moved to the bigger E rated tires, what air pressure are you running?

I have the Toyo AT3's which are 10-ply (E rated) and I run between 32-36lbs depending in the season/conditions.

I'm. Running BFG KO3s in an E load rating and I run 40 PSI. I do a lot of towing though, if I plan on being on being in town or on rough roads I drop that to 32 PSI.

Yea, I definitely air up for towing. I just don't tow too often lately.

Rough roads/snow = 32psi
Daily driving = 36psi
Towing = 40-42psi

I prefer the softer ride of 32-36 and don't mind the loss in MPG. The 3.0 does so well with mpg, I can hardly tell the difference when aired down.

Nothing fancy, but my Denali wheels had sixth chrome triangular inserts. I wanted to make it look different. I painted all six inserts on each wheel gloss black. It was part of blacking out everything on the truck,

Congratulations on the truck. Yes there was very minor trimming needed, you would almost not notice it since the shop I went to that is all they do is lift kits and modifications to ensure proper fitment with no rubbing. I did change the upper control arms that came with the ready lift kit but I am already looking at going with a BDS kit or Cognito soon as I want to change the entire shocks now for something better. For tires I went with the very popular Nitto Ridge grapplers.
Killer truck! I just picked up a new Carbon Pro AT4 diesel yesterday! I really like the look of yours. What di you end up changing to, the BDS or the Cognito?

Grabbed a set of Nitto Recon Grapplers 285 70 18 with RockTrix 18x9 -12. Truck has a 2” level and Readylift UCAs. No trimming or rubbing. Slight hum at highway speed but not bad at all for an AT tire. View attachment 7057They handle great and the truck feels more nimble.
Nice! I just picked up a new white carbon pro and its time to level / lift and get some new wheels and tires. I really like your set up! I also want a bed cover which I am now being told that its going to be hard with the carbon pro bed. Dangit!!

No rubbing? Stock suspension? I see you don't have the factory mud guards, maybe that helps with the fitment? I have the mud guards and just went and measured, it looks like they "should" fit and not rub? I am gonna find out when the factory tires wear out because that's the size I want to. They are exactly 1" taller than stock, so it should work out.

I have the ready lift leveling kit and as you mentioned the mud flap delete kit No rubbing at all.

I have the BAKFlip MK4. They have the modified mounting rails for the Carbon Pro. Have not seen a shell for the Carbon Pro. I did find a rail system to have the ability to mount overlander equipment.

which mud flap delete kit do you have? I have seen some that say you need to cut the body to make them work, and then others that don't say anything about that.
