So, is there any reason I can't get the baby Duramax in a Yukon AT4? It is available in all other trims of the Yukon. So, it makes no sense for it to not be an option to have it in there. To me,this $900 upgrade is a MUST. So why can't I spend my money and buy it as an option? That means more profit for GM...

Seems very odd! Who knows the reason but I’m sure they will blame Covid!

GM sure makes it a PITA to contact them and get information. I used GMC "Request Information" page as it seemed like the best contact option as I am wanting some information and there is no email (and I will NOT be calling them). I later got an email from a local dealer (I guess that form sent them my contact info?) and here is part of the conversation. Probably didn't even read my question...

My reply to the first email from them.

Stuff like this lately has been making me hate vehicle research, which is something I love :(

This is from GMAuthority:

"The 2022 GMC Yukon AT4 will still not be available to order with the 3.0L LM2 Duramax turbodiesel inline-six engine. As we reported previously, the unique front fascia design on the AT4 obstructs the intercooler and intercooler piping needed for the diesel engine, so it cannot be offered in conjunction with this trim level."

Well darn :( But thanks for the help! Maybe (hopefully!) they will figure it out for 2023...

Yeah, it's too bad because that motor in the AT4 Yukon would be awesome. Any idea how the reliability has been with that diesel?
I eventually plan on owning a Yukon AT4. That being said, diesel is a MUST for me. I also plan to buy a wrecked on (hence the wrecked AT4s thread). So I guess a 3.0 swap will just be added to the list of work that would need done. Front end work (including bumpers) is already on the list, so I have no doubt It could made to work. As for the reliability, we will find out when I have one to use - how it's meant to be used 😁
