I have a new, yet to get its first oil change, 2025 AT4 2500 that a just purchased in June which tells you how much I drive it. With the weather getting really nice I have been driving with my windows down but it is damn near impossible to do with the whistling coming from both my side mirrors. Its like having tinnitus playing through the radio on 50% volume. Ive attached a video for everyone. Now that I know its doing it, I can hear it with the windows up and the radio off. Its driving me nuts. Has anyone else had this issue and what should I do about it? I have other videos but theyre too big to upload but you can clearly hear the whistling.

EDIT: This truck is 100% STOCK... Only thing I've done to it is put gas in it.

Don't drive between 19 and 51mph? 😁

Seriously though, do you have a bug deflector or anything non-oem? I haven't heard that, and I do alot of 20-50, in 2 pre-re's.

That would drive me nuts, I'd have to imagine real hard and convince myself it was the turbo! 😉

Maybe a tonneau cover? Just grabbing straws. I have crossover toolboxes with tonneau covers, so maybe that's a stupid question to ask.

But something is making the wind do weird things.

I have same mirrors and no issues.

The pain in the ass fix would be take it to the dealer and be prepared to leave it a few days and for them to tell you they don’t hear it and arnt doing anything.

If you are willing to dive in your self I think you can fit it probably pretty easily.

I would take the mirror off to gain access inside the mirror housing. You can use controls to angle mirror downward and just pop the mirror out. Boost Auto has replacement parts and good videos posted showing how to.

With mirror off you should have access to inside. You have a few different parts to the mirror housing. You show in the video how when you push in on the upper housing the whistle stops. Then over time comes back. That suggests you have a gap between the plastic housing pieces. Pushing the plastic together closes the gap and whistle gone. Plastic relaxes, moves back out and whistle comes back.

From the inside you can check the tabs/ connectors between the LED assembly, upper mirro cap trim, and main housing. Makes sure everything is snapped together correctly.

If it checks out I would apply some silicone or black RTV along the seams on the upper seam lines inside the housing.

Let it dry, snap mirror back on and take it for a drive.

Hope that is what you were looking for.

That right there is the problem!

Diesels don't make that sound. They have turbos. gm designed the gassers to make the owners "think" they had horses under the hood, like eltric cars making V8 sounds... You found gm out, by sticking your hand out the window. Don't report it too loud. gm will eliminate the ability for us to lower windows next, atleast without a monthly fee. 🤣

Had the same issue. I put self-adhesive felt strips behind the mirror on the arm. Extend the the mirrors out to tow and the strips tape in the cavity. Just a 1/4" or 1/2" strip along the length of the cavity. Works great, is invisible and does not impact use.
