I just had a Ready Lift leveling kit installed yesterday. Now trying to figure out what tires to get. Thinking of the Toyo Open Country AT3 185/70R18 (apparently the largest size on stock rims without cutting?). Anyone running these tires? Thoughts/suggestions on others? I do lots of highway driving, snowy mountain passes (need the 3-peak logo), and the occasional rough forest service roads. BIG question I know…

Current Duratracs are terrible in the rain and snow as I’m sure you all know…

Thanks

toyo is a great tire , another is cooper tire ,my last set ran great with less noise , also they are made in america

Toyo MT’s always. Also I just found out- Toyo and Nitto are making a 6 ply in MT and AT. If ya driving a 1500 would be a smoother ride than the 10 ply.

I second this. For everyday driving the 6 ply is the way to go. So much smoother than the 10 ply.

I'm running the Cooper 295/70R18 AT3 on stock wheels with a Readylift kit on my 22.5. I used a heat gun to create a little more space on the factory mud flap to eliminate a very minor rub at full lock. They ride great and are quite compared to many I've used.

I've been in the tire business my whole life and our company sells or has sold most of the major brands, Toyo is a quality product and you wouldn't go wrong with them.

As far as the load range goes, there's no reason to buy a tire that exceeds the capacity of the truck or the wheels they're being mounted on.

I just mounted up some BFG KM3’s. Coming from Toyo AT3 on my previous at4. I liked the toyos but wanted something different and more aggressive for the X. These fit the bill without compromising road manners, and so far seem to be a hair quieter.

How do these ride compared to the AT3? Got a pic you could share? Been shopping around and was kinda waiting to see the KO3 but always liked the KM3. Ride quality is important to me. I had the AT3s on previous truck and they rode like rocks. Especially as they aged.

So many good options out there. I had the Toyos on a Ram Rebel several years ago, they were good tires. I’ve also had the Nitto Ridge Grapplers, and absolutely loved them. They look super aggressive, but were not loud. They aren’t 3peak certified, but I drove them in 6 inches of snow in 15 degree weather at 8,000ft and had zero issues.

I’ve been researching a lot myself for when I’m due for new tires in probably another year… right now I’ve narrowed it down to 4: Nittos again, General Grabber ATX, Cooper Discoverer AT3, or Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT.

I e only had them for a couple of days, no pics yet. This truck rides SO much better than my 21 AT4. It’s hard to say how much of it is the tires vs the other differences of the X suspension, 18’s vs 20’s, leveled vs stock ride. I would say the ride is very similar to stock with the Goodyear MT, slightly rougher over big potholes, but still much better than my 21 was.

Nitto Terra Grapler, 10 ply has never let me down in some really rough places. Tough tires for sure.

The shop that installed my Readylift had Wildpeaks on his truck......
They have been great so far.
