It's possible this is just the area I live in (Dartmouth College region....), but have people turned into social a-holes? I have owned a 2024 GMC 2500 AT4 for a month now. In the years past, people used to smile and complement your truck (which I regularly do), or if they are friends, jokingly bust your chops about the make (GMC, Ford, Whatever). Now all I get is negative BS, and I emphasize the BS. Probably 2 dozen people have pointed out the problems "they" are having with literally everything about the truck: The engine, transmission, everything. Nobody can define "they", because they can't identify anybody who is having any of these problems, or even knows anybody who owns one of these trucks. Any details I pry for these jackwagons are 100% provable nonsense. The only pleasure I get in this is watching them backpedal when the realize I don't take their blurting idiocy laying down.

People are filterless nowadays. I was at Lowes getting out of my truck and some lady (I think her name was Karen) in the car parked next to me started giving me shit through her passenger window about how I was ruining the environment because I was driving a diesel...blah, blah, blah. I had a million things I could have replied with as she sat in her Ford Expedition, but I simply said, "we're all gonna die", and went on my way. True story.

Haters gunna hate...

Neurotic behavior is encouraged these days. So many people praise those who complain about everyone and everything. I find it easier to ignore these people as they aren't looking for a dialogue, they just want to feel superior to you.

I completely believe that. Twice in the past month I've had "carbon footprint" comments thrown at me. Funny thing is I never got any of those comments in the 7 years I drove a gas guzzling 5.7L Toyota Tundra. I believe I was unknowingly Virtual Signaling by driving a Toyota, so everything was A-OK with all the pretentious modern day hippies (in their $130 Patagonia t-shirts) and intellectuals around here. :)

The nonsense you’re referring to is everywhere!! I have experienced the same type of energy from a few but at the end of the day, I can give a rats a@s what people like this think. Especially when they absolutely have no personal experience in the matter.

I'm jealous! It would make my day if someone commented on my "carbon footprint" or said I was "ruining the environment". I only hope I am driving the 392 Jeep Wrangler at the time.
