What did you do to your AT4 today?

So depending on what your mounting on the tools bars, the riv nuts that come with the tool bars are not very strong. They were rubber. They held, but failed after a while. So I used my own steel riv nuts and bolts to mount the tool bars. They now hold the weight of the hight lift jack and traction boards. I used the mounts linked below. Just modified them to attach to the tool bars.

Got it. I'll install heavy duty rivets too. Thanks.

Np bud, happy to help. If you need any further info let me know.

Serviced for winter.

Changed oil, fuel filter and greased. Soaked everything I could with 3M cavity wax...

Replaced gm's cheap ass plastic fuel filter bowl with an aftermarket aluminum bowl, still allowing the use of a 36mm socket, after I drilled and tapped for a ⅜" pet cock drain. Allowing me to drain water out the bottom or drain completely during a filter change. If'n you know, you know...

P.S. I know pet cock is one word. 🤡

I want to know more about this filter thing.

I want to know more about this filter thing.

It allows one to drain the water in the bowl without that special sized wrench, which gm thinks everyone has along side of the road. When the WIF message comes on, you best be draining.

Unless one wants to have arm pit deodorant that smells like diesel for a day. 😉

Not my photo...

22k miles with 38% filter life remaining on dic. As easy as it is, I'm going to replace it when I clean the map sensor at every other oil change...

Not what I did to my at4, but maybe what it did to me. Fell off the multi function tailgate Sunday night onto my garage floor. We spent the weekend in Buffalo for hockey and I was unloading stuff out of the back in the rain and got my feet tangled on the step and down I went. I'm okay I think, just banged up my knees and my forearm a bit. I yelled a couple obscenities after it happened, and my wife found me laying on the floor looking at the ceiling collecting my thoughts  . I'm 35, but I guess it's time to start using that foldout old man handle in the bed.

You need to loosen up buddy. Get those knees working; start running or something. 35 is very young to not be agile.
Hope you feel better!

I agree. I'm in pretty decent shape, but playing hockey my whole life has taken it's toll. I lift, run, and skate 5-6 times a week in the winter, and still play men's league, but I've had one knee surgery already. I'm scheduling a shoulder cleanup for the spring, and I've got a pretty good catch / click in my hip I'm afraid to tell the Dr. about  .

Ouch!

I would suggest the tool bars Diamondback offers for our covers. The tool bars are very useful for mounting options. I however didn't like their riv nut design if you mounting equipment over 20-30lbs to them. If you are, you will need to upgrade those riv nuts to metal ones and not rubber. Once you do that, the tool bars can hold the weight of a high lift jack and traction boards. I also upgraded the gas springs on my cover for the end that the equipment is mounted to. This allows the cover to open effortlessly and stay up with the added weight. Went with the 160lbs ones. I know you stated you need the added room for your air planes, just know all of this equipment that is mounted and removable. So if you need the room, remove the equipment, then when you going on long trips up north, or offroading, then attach the equipment. This goes for the crossbin also, this is also removable.

I don't have any 1/4" rivets; not wanting to end up with random sizes, what lenght/type of rivets did you use?
