Hey all! Really itching to get some vent visors on my new AT4. But Im really stuck on which brand and which style (IN-CHANNEL vs. TAPE-ON) to run with. Ive used both in the past and each have pros and cons. But these days there are a million options to choose from. Anyone have any feedback on their recent addition of vent visors to their Sierra? Any and all feedback would be appreciated. Both on looks and function.....

Cheers,

JR

Sorry no one replied...I went with the Matte Black in channel from EGR. I have run the same ones on my Wrangler JKU for years now. The acrylic smoke versions always tend to fade and scratch over time. You will have to get used to not being able to see "through" them though. Its not a big issue. Went with the AVS Aeroskin 2 for the nose of the truck.

Thanks for the feedback. Got any pics of these on your rig?

I just picked my 2019 up this past Saturday but I’m planning on going with the AVS in channel in smoke and the aero skin 2 in matte for the hood. Had the AVS in channel on my Jeep with no issues.

I installed the AVS 894075 low profile visors. I like the low profile look better than the standard ones. Less air noise as well.

I am going to get some weather tech in-channel for mine but waiting till after Christmas cause might get some as a present

heard that some AT4 folks had issues with the in channel ventshades causing the windows to stop short of closing and reversingm due to in channel interference with the window

They are not reading the full directions. You have to run the window up and down a few times and then the visors sit in place. Happened with my weathertechs when I installed back in November and have not had a single problem with them since. Had my windows rolled down today and no issues closing them.

I bought a set right after I got my truck, and while I had no issue with the fronts, the back windows wouldn't work worth a damn. Have put the guards on the last 5 trucks, first time I have had an issue. I did notice, that the weather-tech site does ask if the sills are rubber, or if they are the chrome or black sills. Not sure if it makes that much of a difference, but I'm hoping now that the truck is a little older, everything may seat a little smoother. I hate driving with the windows fully closed, and I think engineers intentionally design windows, so that any drops of water go right into the window switch.

I have always used AVS in channel for all my vehicles. I don't currently have any on my 22 AT4 but I didn't had any issues when I installed them on my 21 AT4.

Ironhead, the AVS Aeroskin 2, is that the one with the lip on back edge of it? The one I got through MYGMC had the lip and I am not sure if they did something wrong or not. I love the way it looked and got compliments on it, but at highway speed my side mirrors (mainly drivers side) started shaking making noise, like it was directing the wind around the side of the truck. They ended up replacing the drivers side mirror and it still shook noticeably. I removed the aeroskin and I have not had any more issues with it. I really liked the look and protection it offered. I may have to look at it again and maybe do the install myself.
