SO I started my truck before work this morning like normal. I went to truck - Foot on brake, pushed start button, Dash lights dimmed, radio went black - all the accessory lights like in switches and HVAC controls all out. Tried to shut off to restart, nothing. Wouldn't shut down. Drove to work 20 minutes - Still would not shut down. Able to leave work just before 9 am (Remote started at 04:20). truck still running in lot at work. took to dealer and they discovered a bunch of codes and a Service Bulletin from January 13, 2023 (one week prior to today - Friday the 13th Ironically), The Bulletin is attached with the list of Codes my truck showed. So GM Knows about it - Doesn't have a FIX, so they pulled the PCM Relay, Did a Global Reset (Disconnect both battery cables and then touched them together to complete a circuit which supposedly resets the computer??? Said GM doesn't have a Fix yet so just don't use remote start.................. Awesome, $70k and basic function messes it up.. Seems gets stuck in remote start mode...

Stuff like this needs to be fixed by GM ASAP. I don't use remote start. I always keep one of my key fobs in the vehicle, so obviously it won't remote start that way. But if I had this problem happen on a brand new 70K truck, I'd be pissed.

Good luck man.

Welp...looks like I won't be using remote start again. Used it this morning and, thankfully, the truck was able to turn off when I got to work. That being said, IS there a way to turn the truck off if this does happen? Did pulling the PCM shut the truck off?

That is what dealer said they did. Pulled PCM relay to shut off. Then did a “Global Reset” by disconnecting both battery cables and then touching the cables together ..?? Said completes a circuit to rest computer?

checked last week, still no update from GM on a fix

That's not good. I'd be pissed too. Keep us updated.
UPDATE………. Dealer contacted me saying they got an update for my truck. Paperwork attached. 2023 AT4 1500. They re-flashed the BCM (Body Control Module)

Looks like you are lucky having a '23 model. And here we thought the '22.5 and '23 my would be the same.

What's the difference between a 22.5 and 23? Is a 23 the new ones with the AEV bumpers? Or what is the criteria between a 22.5 and 23?

Interesting, I have not used remote start yet. Now I am for sure not going to. Living in the deep south a remote start is not really needed since its not cold outside and my truck is garage kept anyway. Plus the fact I have no where to really drive it to daily. I have worked from home the past 3 years and it is a permanent thing now. I never used remote start on my last truck.

My truck is a 2023 build date 12/22 so its very new.

I have the 22 R and all is well, note that the bulletin is for most models of Chev/GMC, someone at corporate has to play with the programming, that is why they now have OTA updates that so far I refuse to allow. Less electronics might be a good thing IMO
