Truck Bed Side Steps w/ Carbon Pro

The instructions supplied with the Amp Research Truck Bed Side Steps is hard to decipher the images they give you.

Running into a problem. Seems as though the bed is mounted differently than the regular steel bed. As such, these side steps by Amp Research don't fit he carbon pro option. Can anyone confirm?
