Scenario:
Pull into gas station, key fob in pocket, driver door open, truck off (engine / accessories off)
Pump fuel, get into truck and shut door > truck honks 3 quick times.

I've looked and cannot find what the truck is trying to tell me and how to shut it up. Everyone at the gas station looks at me like I'm an impatient jerk.
Anyone figured this one out?

That is the signal for key left in vehicle, if you had closed the driver door with the key fob outside then got in later it wouldn’t do that. It will also use this alert if you leave the vehicle running then close the driver door with the key fob outside, both of these are able to be disabled in the settings menu on the entertainment screen.

Perfect, thank you!

Used to be so annoying. I'd come into our development, gate is like 3/4 mile from our home but other homes are nearer and I'd get out of the truck with engine running, to retreive mail from the community mailbox right inside the gate and the darn truck would honk (stupid late at night). Finally figured it out and now have peace.

From someone who has locked his keys in his car while the car was running (dont ask), this feature is a great option to have! lol

My fob stays in my pocket so I disabled it.

Was the other fob in the truck?

I bet it won't lock with a fob in it. With a buddys Ford I have to trick it to get it to lock with the fob in the truck. He keeps the fob in the truck at all times. No need to borrow that F-350 anymore though!

It wasn't in the truck. It was in my 2004 Subaru WRX. I had it modified and added a turbo timer which keeps the car running after turning off the key to let the turbo properly cool down (didn't need it but thought it was cool). One time I left the key in the ignition and hit the door locks before closing the door. After eating lunch I realized I never turned the car off as it ran while I called AAA to unlock the door.

I would love to know how you disabled it? I have read the manual and even stopped at the dealer and they couldnt figure it out!

It’s in the settings; take a look. Let me know if you are able to disable it else I’ll look up the sequence in my truck.

Yep, in the settings.
Feeling pretty dumb but I have shut off everything I can find including Key Left in Vehicle. To no avail. The only time it doesnt honk is when I set the alarm on exit. I have both keys out of the vehicle.

I checked it again.

Thanks for the info. Yes I had both of these turned off so I guess its off to the dealer I go!
Yeah, through this forum I have confirmed my truck does some things that it's not supposed to do. Fortunately for me none of them is annoying as a tripple honk each time I get out.
