I have a 2023 AT4 3500, I connected my trailer to it no problem, showed connected everything worked. The other day I connected the trailer and it didn’t show connected in the truck, tried the plug, turned the truck off then connected, nothing. Now I get to drive around with no trailer lights or brakes. Calling the dealer today, I use it for work so I can’t afford to not have it/use it. Thoughts on a quick fix? It’s not the trailer.

Took my 2022 at4 in for the same reason shortly after purchasing new. All checked out fine and I was advised by the mech / tech, to make sure the truck was off before ever plugging in the trailer. I also run a coiled extension plug in and ordered a new one after shop visit. All has been fine since and doing as advised from the dealership mech.

Thank you for the information, I’ve tried plugging it in when it’s off. Still doesn’t show connected. Once I get this figured out I’ll be sure to only plug it in when the truck is off. Don’t need to be dealing with this again.

I just had this problem. Use a trailer, 4 days later hooked up again and no lights. Dicked around a minute with plug. Before getting tools a test light out, hooked to a plug on another trailer. Bang, saw it right away.

Go back to first trailer and ran jumper from frame to truck. Lights worked. Unhooked bolt that holds ground wire to frame. Looked good, tightened bolt and bang, all's good. Just a bit of rust I guess.

Try a jumper wire for a ground in less words.

Tried couple different trailers, all the same results. I talked to the tech at the car dealership quickly and he said there is a service bulletin out for the trailer module. Bringing it to the dealer next week, hopefully it’s not a long lead item. I’ll update the post after I get it back because I’m sure this will happen to others.

Glad you had other trailers to try the basics. Do you know if it's corrected by software or hardware? See if you can get the TSB number!

I have a 2023 1500 that I had to have the trailer module replaced. It was keeping the right light on no matter what. Even when the vehicle was off. The lights on the truck worked properly. I have 3 trailers and a test adapter and even tried the LED resister pigtail. They all worked fine on my wifes 23 Yukon. It was a part they ordered, took a couple weeks to come in and the new module fixed.

My dealer messed around with this issue for a couple of days and now they have ordered a new module. My third trip back. The first time they said they replaced the fuse. Same result. I have three trailers and it keeps running lights on all the time, even when the vehicle is powered off. Then I get errors when I am driving. Some things work.

I heard about the bulletin for 2023. Thought it was fixed for 2024. I'm hoping the new module fixes it. Will tell.

To close the loop on my original post I started Jan 13th, It was a bad module, and they ended up replacing it... this is a known issue.
