Is anyone else experiencing problems with small trailers with LED lights? My truck is constantly reporting faulty lights that are no bad as well as trailer disconnection notices. I have tried multiple plug adapters but think the logic the truck uses to identify the lights, which I assume is resistance based, is too sensitive for small LED light packages??

I pull a 4K# , 22 footer and have no issues to date.
What do you mean “adapters”, dont you have both 4 and 7 pin bumper installed connectors ?
Try this : build a good solid gnd jumper and and connect to a solid , clean to bare metal, trailer frame connection and the other end to a clean bolt head on the truck frame.

Mine does the same with a small tailer. I get lights not working. I flash or brake and it goes away.. till next time

My truck does not have the 4-pin connector. Just the round 7 pin and two small round for cameras.

Just as mine does

. Not thinking , me. I should have been more aware as I use one of the camera inputs with my camper.
Even though, it sounds like a gnd problem to me try running a solid supplemental gnd to get arround the pin and the ball/coupler .

just a note : you a boarder, Telemarker or OffPiest with your truck?

As weird as it sounds, mechanic at the dealership where I purchased, said to make sure the vehicle was OFF before plugging the trailer in. Have towed prolly 5-7 times since and well, by doing as the mech advised, haven’t had the above issues since.
