Towing case TR310 with At4

I’m purchasing a 2020 at4 diesel. Wondering if I can safely trailer my case tr310 skid. The skid weighs 8800 and not sure on trailer as I haven’t purchased it yet. Typically will only trailer a few miles at a time but would be nice to go about an hour maybe once a year for service. Ideally don’t want a 3/4 ton truck since the amount of times I need to tow this much is rare. Thoughts? Just a littler nervous that it might not do it or harm the truck.

I would say no way. I’m not the trailer police. I’m just saying you will be way overloaded.

It will squat the truck to the ground. I’m assuming your gonna be over 11,000 lbs with a 2500 lb equipment trailer.

What’s your door sticker say? My buddy with a 2022 At4 diesel’s door sticker I believe is right around 8000.

I would a lot depends on you. I just sold a 2500 hd AT4 Duramax. I would routinely haul 14 round bales ( at about 1200lbs each) on a gooseneck. With trailer, came in over 20,000. No problem, long as a quick stop was not needed! No longer need to, so went to 1500. I plan to move my Kubota M8540 behind this truck, be a load of 7500ish. I will only have to move it twice a year about 30 miles each way for deerfields. It’s a truck, made to work and load- right!?

TLDR: Lots of info below to help, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

Door sticker on mine is ~9000 lbs. I’m super aggressive about keeping my Jeep light, so with the aluminum trailer this setup is about 7200 lbs and the tent is around 115lbs.

This is with a WD hitch. It pulls well and stops safely, but you can see that it’s squatting a hair more than is desired. Comparing this too when I trailer my little sports car, it’s night and day. The car is 2800 lbs, bringing the setup to just under 5000 lbs total. For that I don’t need a wd hitch and there is no squat.

That’s a difference of 2500 lbs. In your scenario you would be 4500-5000 lbs heavier than the pictured Jeep setup.

I wouldn’t recommend it, after feeling how much of a change just 2000 lbs makes.

100% agreed. Nothing worse than to have the trailer driving the truck and pushing it. Not a good situation

Air bags would take that squat out but won't help with being overweight. Just my opinion.
