Tow mirrors on a half ton

Trying to decide if the tow mirrors are worth the upgrade on a half ton at4.
Do they have all the same functions of the smaller mirrors?

I dislike driving the LD after driving the HD's. Glad the wife stole it from me.

Other that not being able to see anything to the left or right at an intersection, they work well for towing.

I put tow mirrors on my 2015 1500. Stupidly, they had all the same functions but I had to re-wire the door harness. Not sure about today's trucks. Pretty sure you can order a 1500 with tow mirrors.

I love the tow mirrors and of course my HD came with them. It does take a bit of getting used to because they are large and can hide cars at a 4 way etc. You just have to pay attention when approaching the intersection and after a short while you will be used to it.

You are correct.

And they aren't as bad as the tow mirrors on a OBS. Man, those were the days, when trucks had enough steel to support a over the road truck style mirror...

Do you mean when locking doors, will the mirrors fold in? Yes.

I have mine set that I push the button inside and they fold in. Then when I back out of the garage I push it again to fold them out.

Yes, there is a button for that also.

I've had tow mirrors on my last two 1/2 tons and would never go back to the mini mirrors.

I’ve been told on here and by the dealer if they are not installed from the factory the 360 camera won’t work right…

1500 with tow mirrors don’t have the cameras correct? I know some of went aftermarket and had to pay for programming but I don’t think it’s a factory option. At least it wasn’t when I bought mine. Selecting tow mirrors removed the surround camera option.

Do you have the window sticker? It will call out what was deleted with a negative dollar amount, shown as a credit.

Your truck might not have been optioned with all the packages either.
