Does anybody have a toolbox like this? The

RealTruck UnderCover SwingCase Truck Bed Storage Box?

Does it fit the 2026 GMC 1500 AT4 and do y’all prefer a tool box like this or a Molle system like Bilt-Right Industries?

I have one of those in my 2500. Really like it. I think the box vs. panel is personal preference as well as what you are trying to store and how you use your bed.

I get gravel and barkdust a lot so use the bed. My reason for a sliding bed cover so I can be buckets loaded and also why I did this box. I have all my small items in it, shackles, tow straps, extra oil, cables etc. I can unlock it and pull it out with everything inside when I need the full bed space. Also keeps everything clean and dry.

The panels give you quick access to items, but they could get dirty/wet depending on how you use the bed, plus you will need a specific mount for each item. Kind of a pain for a lot of small items in my opinion.

Thank you John, great looking tool box! I have a ratchet strap system I love that takes up one side and a “Taco net” on the other side, so I’d have to move one to install the box, unless there’s room for it in the back of the bed?

I have two “Juggernut Designs” retractable Ratchet straps, one passenger side rear bed mounted on side (by tailgate) and one driver side front of bed (closer to the cab) and the Taco Net by the driver side rear by tailgate. Only spot left is passenger side front (by cab) not sure if the box will work there…

Those are great ratcheting straps!

The swing box is designed to use factory bolt holes for the most part in how they attach to the bed side. Also molded to wrap over the wheel well arch. That is why they are make and model specific and designed for the back of the bed so they swing out over the tailgate for easy access. But if you don’t mind drilling, facing up brackets or stand offs if needed, and can install rivnuts I bet you could mount them in other places.

Thank you

Personally not a fan of the swing box. Sold the thing within a few weeks. My brother has one for his ram and he is 50/50 on it. His has held up for almost two years. He uses it to store ratchet straps and a few small tools as there is not that much room inside them.

I have the driver side BuiltRight rack and while it looks nice and is engineered well, the MOLLE attachments are pretty expensive. I am an organized person so I like having my stuff clean and laid out like the BuiltRight allows.

Also have the Velcro MOLLE panels for under the seat and the center console mount.

Overall my opinion is if you don’t mind the price, BuiltRight is the way to go.
