Tool Box In A Carbon Pro

I purchased 2 large heavy duty j-hooks from e-trailer that I may try to use by hooking them up to the hooks on the side of the truck bed. It looks like I can just drill a hole in the interior of the tool box in the same area where the regular mounting tie downs go. I need to investigate a little further to see what the strength is of the hooks mounted on the side of the truck bed. Here are the hooks…

I was looking into rigging rings ...ap across the back so make it nice and clean.

Hello,

Has anyone been able to mount a tool box / saddle box in their carbon pro bed? If so please share how you did it and what you used for tie downs. Thank you.

Have a great day,
James
Hey there… I just ordered one and I have the carbon pro insert. I am going to mess around with it and if I figure out a way to do it, I will let you know. I believe there would be a way to do it, but you might have to secure it from the back. As soon as I figure out, I’ll let you know.

The carbon pro bed seems to really limit after market options. What advantages does the carbon pro bed provide? I only ask as I don't know much about them, and I see all the issues with after market options such as bed covers, bed storage solutions, bed racks, etc.

They say that they are much more durable than the other liners. But I never had a problem with the other liners so sounds like a sales pitch to me. The truck I just bought came with one so it didn’t cross my mind to see if it was compatible with storage products. I will find a way to install it and I’ll let you know.

I thought maybe it being carbon, it would reduce weight, and in turn increase payload and towing numbers but I am not sure lol. That to me would make it somewhat worth it, but I am not sure as with all the aftermarket troubles. Maybe someone with a bit more knowledge will chime in, but i am still stumped.

Allegedly the carbon bed saves 60 pounds.
Like most, i've found it to be more limiting than beneficial. The extra tie down points are super handy. That's probably my favorite bit.

I like that it will never rust, and the 2”x6”x6’ boards that let me use just the back of the truck for groceries. You could try bolting something to two boards and if they’re bolted together you can’t take them out??

Hey guys. Did anyone ever figure out a viable solution to mounting the toolbox? I ordered some turnbuckles and was planning on trying to use j hooks in conjunction with the turnbuckle and secure to the D rings on the bed itself. Not sure if that’ll work or if the d rings are certified for that much pressure on them. Wanted to avoid drilling if at all possible. Thanks!

Ok so I figured out a way to make it work. Not sure what the load rating is on the D rings attached to the bed but I ordered these turn buckles off Amazon for $16 and used the J hooks that came with the toolbox to make it work. No holes drilled so we will see how well they work.
