Has anyone switched tires to a highway tire ? I have about a 3k trip towing in a couple weeks and I have a stock set of wheels I was thinking about using to put highway tires on so I am not burning up my winter tires. The reason I would try to go Highway is IFFFF it increases mileage I will do it considering the price of fuel 1-2 MPG would make a huge difference on my summer trips. I take a lot of long trips so It would be beneficial. I normally run Nittos but at this point I want a good mileage tire. If it’s not worth it I will just throw some Ridge Grapplers on. Maybe a different size? With the AT4X I noticed a huge difference in mileage from my 2024 AT4.

I haven’t switched yet. I’m looking into Michelins, Perelli and Continentals. Also, Cooper. They are a little less money and from what I’ve researched, the same as the Continentals. They own Cooper and the same engineers used the identical technology.

Well after 600 miles pulling my boat today my average was only 9.1 so that sucks I’m definitely looking at some highway tires this is the worst mileage diesel I have ever owned by far. My Cummins was lifted on 37s still getting 21

Put michelin defenders on mine. same size tires. quieter and smoother but I primarily drive my AT4X on the highway. mileage plussed up maybe 2 miles per gallon,. TD

2 mpg would have been huge I ended up with an average of 11.8 when I shut it down after 844 miles. I tow a lot so I can get away with a not as aggressive tire in the summer I only do dirt roads I am not off-roading a 2500 lol they sink fast.

Cooper STMaxx year round. Great wear, low noise. towing, highway, snow... All great .

what are ya'll getting for miles on stock tires? I've got about 33K on mine and they are starting to whine and looking like they may need replacing here soon.

@pave
Have you noticed a difference in mileage ?
How was the fishing (assuming Walleye was the purpose of your trip)? Unfortunately, I have found my mpg is near 20 +/- 2 @ 70… the extra 5 mph @ 75 drops it significantly to 14-16 ish. 65-70 mph seems to be the sweet spot. When towing 8k-10k lbs in MN (so it was flat) I was 14-15 but was at 65 generally. AT4X AEV 50k still in my Wranglers. Gotta bet some better highway tires would get us another 2. 2/12 = 16.67% x $5.64 gal (avg) = $0.94/gal savings. Use that math x how many miles you expect to drive this summer to justify the highway tires

truck has never seen anywhere near 18 let alone 20mpg. Sturgeon fishing 🎣 it was pretty crazy lots of big fish being caught guy in front of us caught is 66 and a 60 in 5 min walleye opens this weekend….. 5.64$ would be amazing I figure my trip to lake Almanor and back this weekend was 170$ in fuel for 4 hours of driving. I’m heading to Ely Nv this weekend for a northern tournament it’s a 400 acre lake the last guy that won caught a 44 inch

Pave Is yours geared different? I’d be taking it to get it looked at if not. Doesn’t make sense yours is so far off.

Nope, I thought maybe it’s cause it’s new and has no miles in it and needs to break in but its
