I know the crap Bose radio on a 70k+ truck is a sensitive topic but just spent the last hour in my truck and here is what I learned. Listening to music through Apple CarPlay. When you just have the rear speakers engaged at best I get 20% of the sound front speakers maybe 50% and the bass is total crap. When I disengage Apple and go through Bluetooth, the sound is significantly improved. Certainly not what you would expect from a truck this expensive, but it is a major improvement. This is where I keep my fade. Seems to be the ideal for me and where my seat is located. Back to apple, they dull the sound, volume and quality some how. Still need to figure this out. Anyone have input please join the fun. I love music and just wish the system did not sound like it was always struggling to push out quality sound.

I feel your disappointment.
I keep mine fairly centered, those rears are just fillers and not meant to dazzle anyone on their own.
Leaving the fader centered supplies sound that's really missing bass compared to the Bose in my 2019
So, that's why I'm having the Kicker subwoofer done this week that goes under the rear seats. I'm hoping to "fill" the cabin more with sound other than those rear speakers. Time will tell

How did you subwoofer install go. If you don’t mind me asking where did you put it, what did you buy and what was cost. I went to place tonight they went 5k to upgrade the truck. Thanks

I don't mind at all, glad to share. I purchased the Kicker GM unit.
Purchased through MYGMC.com and they offered 20% off with $130 installation.
Couldn't be happier with the exception that earlier units had a 3.5 jack in the amplifier that accepted a Kicker remote bass knob adjuster. This updated unit no longer has that nor does it have accessible dip switches to control gain features which is fine with me but I listen exclusively to Sirius XM and depending the genre of the music, from rock to country etc, I have to adjust the bass through the touch screen equalizer on the head unit. Made the Bose system come alive for sure, night and day difference, glad I did it. Much more immersive sound experience throughout the cabin. You lose the carpeted underseat storage but this design creates its own storage and I found myself putting too much junk under the seat anyway.

The Bose system is crap because Apple (or more likely Google) feeds it dumbed down audio. What we're probably seeing here is Google's Android operating system dumbing down CarPlay's stream to make their own sound superior, so you play out music through their own privacy data stealing PlayStore apps, or native android. GM just recently announced they will not offer CarPay in their new Electric Vehicles, and only allow Google Android OS. Look at google maps privacy options 1) let us steal your data all the time 2) let us steal your data only when navigating. ....great choice they give us.... Google must have offered GM some sort of sweetheart deal if pull CarPlay, or passive aggressively extorted them to do it. That's how Alphabet, Inc (Google) operates. Look at Google "Waze" navigation app's terms of service. You have to accept to giving google all your contacts information. They are literally stealing your information from your friends phones, who don't read the terms of service. They don't have an ethical bone in their entire body. I'm not giving Apple a complete pass either. They love their nanny controls too.

I also read some article, a while back, that the government was "working" with car audio manufactures to reduce noise pollution. That can only mean one thing: Reduce the stock bass, and make it unpleasant for the car occupants to have the volume high. Google and Government are basically a partnership (you give us all the users data we want, and we won't pass any laws restricting you from collecting data), so I wouldn't put it past them to dumb down their sound, and dumb down their competitor apps sound even more.

The sound is crap regardless of the signal source and it’s because of lacking definition and subwoofer.

When I get on the GMC accessories page I always get an error message when I try to look at something!

Same here. I called them because the 20% off deal is only good through the end of the month and the guys said there is something wrong with ordering online and I probably wouldn’t have any luck doing so…..
