I really hope something is found and can be done. Anything really. However I think they need to go back further than 2019. My 2017 C7 had the left bank lifters replaced due to the same issue.

I really doubt other than furnish new engines to everyone, which won't happen, maybe GM can warranty the engine for more miles. This would add some security. Just an idea.

Bobo57, I totally agree with you but if they want to do something, an extended warranty would feel good. My 6.2 has 50k on it and no issues and love it.
Seems like that would be a logical option given the low volume. Wonder if it satisfies the auto regulators?

ugh hate to see this.. I know its probably nothing to worry about, but we got the carbyte at about 500 miles (we're at 1k now). I know the carbyte can just help a little bit which is what worries me

31,169 miles on my 2023 Sierra AT4 with the 6.2L. Engine seized going 50mph....so making my way to the side of the road on a narrow road with no shoulder in rural MN with a dead engine (limiting braking ability) was fun. Metal all in the oil, and there have been exactly zero engines available in the entire world (well not for warranty use, there are plenty of them being put into new rigs on the factory production line so....), so the truck I bought 2.5 months ago is sitting there with absolutely no ETA. Class action is coming I'm assuming.

So the complaint of no replacement engines was a thing when mine was replaced back in October. I had a new engine in a week so I'm wondering if it's dependent on where you're located.

The dealership submitted a SPAC case, which I'm told searches the entire nation. Nada. There was one in Los Angeles, but who knows at this point what the status is of that one.

That's frustrating. I'm in central PA and my engine was shipped from CA in a week. I wish you luck.
FWIW, GM reached out to me and offered me 6 months of OnStar, extended use of the GMC app after it expires and $250 to spend on accessories for my "troubles".

I called GM Roadside Assistance (GMRAP) and they directed me to coordinate the tow and gave me names/numbers of places to call. My situation was incredibly unsafe on many levels, so I just did what I was instructed. Now GMRAP is refusing to reimburse me until I give them more details than what the receipt I was provided gives them. So they want me to do what they advertise on their site as a service THEY were to provide.

To "help me out", I was given a loaner truck to use in the interim....after a week of fighting with them and finally threatening legal action as I have a disability (amputee) and need the cabin space to safely operate the pedals. THEN, magically, an hour later I received a call approving my rental of a Silverado with a 5.3l engine.

My interaction with GM thus far has been pitiful, embarrassing, and will not look favorable for them.

Only references 2019-2024. Just purchased a 2025 6.2L, does it have a different/updated/upgraded engine? Investigation is for the L87 engine. How do I lookup my engine designation?
