Well I showed her the videos of the different exhausts online, and showed her the pictures of the chrome quad tip exhausts, of which she loved both. Plus she bitches about the gas mileage of the truck, and as we all know, the more air you get in and out of an engine, the better gas mileage you’re going to get…That’s awesome! I bet she’ll love the sound too…hopefully!
I bought the S-Type. I’ll be honest, while I prefer the sound of the ATAK (at least in the videos I’ve seen), Summit only had the chrome quad tips in stock for the S-Type. I didn’t want to use the stock tips, and didn’t want the carbon fiber ones. With the Red Quartz color of my truck, the chrome tips look best.Nice! Which Borla exhaust did you go with? I've done the intake but on the fence with the exhaust.

How does it sound when you’re driving down the highway at 70mph or 80mph? Is it overly loud or overly high pitched or anything like that?Just got done swapping out the GM performance (Borla Touring) for the Borla Stype on mine. It sounds just right imo. The ATAK is a bit too aggressive for me but it's all subjective.
Which intake do you have? After opening the box, I am seriously, seriously considering I’m returning the K&N kit and getting the Cold Air Inductions kit. It’s only $20 more, and after I opened the box, it looked really cheap. Not like cheap quality, but like 1990’s Honda Civic “I bought an APC intake at Autozone” cheap.Nice! I got the Airaid intake 201-382. It was a toss up between that and the cold air inductions, but I liked the looks of the Airaid and it was one of the few that actually had a dyno sheet with the 6.2. I have a Cold Air Inductions intake on my Trailblazer SS and am very happy with it. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.Which intake do you have? No loud or high pitched sounds for me when cruising. You really hear it best on cold starts, idle, and when you get on it. Other than that, you don't really notice it.How does it sound when you’re driving down the highway at 70mph or 80mph? Is it overly loud or overly high pitched or anything like that?
You have a TBSS AND an AT4??? Man, call me jealous lol. I almost traded my GTO in years ago in a TBSS but couldn’t do it. My mom had a 2003 Trailblazer and then a 2008 Trailblazer (both 4.2L I6), and couldn’t trade my baby for a grocery getter.I got the Airaid intake 201-382. Your welcome. You'll like the Cold Air Inductions intake. After 50 miles of driving the DIC is showing 2 more MPG's, but I'll have to verify that at the pump. Yeah, the TBSS turned out to be quite the project. Ordered it in '06 when they first came out. It's AWD and ran 14.4 in the 1/4 mile stock. Then, decided to put a blower on it, headers, built trans, Borla cat-back, larger throttle body, etc. Then got a laptop and installed HP Tuners to dial it in. The stock 6 rib belt wouldn't hold 10 psi of boost, so I designed an 8 rib pulley kit to overcome that. Then I ended up selling the kits for a number of years which included the 'Vette, GTO, Pontiac G8, Trailblazer SS, Camaro, and Chevy SSR. Even ran 101 octane to bump the timing. Best 1/4 mile was 12.27 @ 110 mph. Still have it with less than 14,000 miles on it. Never had it on the dyno but pushing roughly 600 HP at the crank. The AT4 is close to being done. I'm going to put highway tires on it for the summer with a new set of stock rims that I'll have powder coated gun metal gray and save the A/T tires for winter. That will be about it. Let me know how the CAI sounds. The Airaid is pretty quiet until 1/2 throttle, then it has a throaty growl to it. End of winded post. You have a TBSS AND an AT4??? Man, call me jealous lol. Anyways, thanks for the advice. I think I am going to return the K&N and get the CAI. I looks better, less parts, less junk, but also the filter is a lot bigger, which means more air and more power.
Definitely going to need some pictures of the TBSS, especially the engine bay with that blower and belt system.Your welcome. You'll like the Cold Air Inductions intake.
