Curious, what is your prefered oil and filter for a 2023 3.0L LZ0 Diesel...I am hearing nothing beats AMSOIL. Your preference and thoughts on why are appreciated.

If your truck came with any free oil and filter changes be sure to use those first; after that use whatever you think is best. There is a thread on here about GM approved with a list of those oils vs others that are not approved (haven't paid the GM licensing fee). Good luck with the opinions though.

Thanks for info, I think GM prefers to use ACDelco but I've heard Mobil 1 is approved. Still trying to see if AMSOIL is.

There are 3 on GM's approved list of Dexos D oils, Like Andy said, for the ones that will pay the fee to get the stamp of approval.
I have been running the Mobil 1 Dexos D. Everyone will give you their spill on Amsoil/Royal Purple and the list goes on. Those discussions can get nasty sometimes.

When I owned 2500HD’s with Diesels, I took it to dealer for oil change. They have record, their oil, THEIR PROBLEM if engine goes bad/breaks. Bonus, Oil change, rotate tires, wash, vacaum- 95 bucks! Yep I am lazy in my old age

Been using amsoil in my lm2 since the beginning. Now at 22500 miles. Never had any issue w the truck so far. Runs great and doesn’t burn oil.
Edit. Just hit 25k. 0 issues. Also use amsoil all in one fuel additive every 3k miles or so.

Whatever the dealer puts in, I want the paper trail with my 11 year bumper to bumper warranty.

An 11 year bumper to bumper warranty for a serious off road truck better hang on to that paperwork; it might come in handy when you are stuck somewhere in back country.

I don't trust anyone doing service on my vehicle other than me. I've seen/heard too many stories about some jackass (dealership or otherwise) messing around with someone's vehicle and causing an issue.
I'm also old, ornery and I hate everyone.

Advanced Auto Parts handles the Mobil 1 Dex D oil, otherwise Amsoil is good

Also w amsoil. If you join their membership club, it really isn’t that much more that Mobil or ac delco. I order enough for 2 or 3 changes at a time.
Which specific AC Delco oil do you use?
