I recently bought a 2020 1500 AT4 3.0 Duramax with 48,000 miles. It has not been modified.

In my opinion, the suspension is very “mushy” and sways side to side quite a bit. The sway is very noticeable at low speed and turning. When I back out of my driveway while turning, the front end rocks side to side a few times before settling. It will also bounce up and down when driving over road undulations.

I’ve been driving Ram 2500’s for the last decade so I’m used to a stiff ride.

Is the mushy feel normal for this truck?
If so, what’s the solution?
At some point I will level the front suspension and add larger tires.

Thanks for any input.

I would not really consider the AT4 being mushy, or too soft, but it no Ram HD that’s for sure. I had 13,and 15, 2500 Diesel Ram’s, and traded my 22 Ram 3500 for my current Denali 2500. I would say make your other mods. Lift/level. Tires etc. Then see what you think. Most bigger tire sizes also trigger load range E/F 10/12 ply tires, which the heavy ply tires tend to firm up the ride quite bit.
‘Your lift may require new shocks, so that might also offer some assistance in firming it up Some too.
