I have had my 23 AT4 2500 Duramax since February. I have a rattle in the steering column. I have went through complete under the dash secured everything i could find possible with no luck. I feel it is right in the steering column, I have not brought it to the dealer yet for a few reasons but I may have to soon. I will attach a video with the noise and it is always there just gets worse over bad roads. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance it is to the point I may take the hit and get rid of it. note the video is only for the noise nothing to watch.

I just picked up my 24 AT4 3500 Gas truck and almost immediately noticed the exact same noise you have. Right behind the steering wheel. I asked the sales person about it, he said "nobody has ever complained about something like that before, I have no idea". It was later in the evening and the shop was closing for the day. I don't feel like it's something major, so I took delivery anyway. Even after only just driving it home though, I can't unhear the sound and it constantly bothers me at idle...I don't think it's rattling any other time than idling.

Did you ever figure out what the noise was?

I have not check the coolant bottle mounting bolts mine were tight . Also I had put 305” tires on and it made it way worse I put the stock tires on for winter and now I only here it sometimes it’s still there but not as pronounced if you find yours please share thanks

Just read a post in the Trailboss forum. Might be coincidence but check the hood release cable. Those posts referenced adding a little foam padding in the areas that touched. Might work might not but it’s at least something to look at.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check those. I was looking at it this morning and the noise decreases if the motor revs a little. I happened to notice that the power steering pump makes a very similar rattle/bubbling type noise, except much louder, which also decreases as the motor revs. I'm wondering if that bubbling noise from the pump is being transmitted through the steering shaft and up into the steering wheel, getting very muted.
