Spot Mirrors

There is a blind spot area in the drivers side mirror. Interested if anyone has any good suggestions.

Has anyone found a good source for a glass spot mirror for drivers side??? Seems our friends at the factory decided we don't need a spot mirror to drive in heavy traffic or back around stumps and rocks without turning on all the camera's.
Agree !!! ours does not have one either!! following

I found these on a thread on a Facebook group, made in the US

Following also…..I came from a Ram 2500 and I sure miss the spot mirror that was built in to my old mirrors. I’m starting to trust the blind spot indicator while driving, but going thru the maze of drive thru’s, and ATM’s I’m constantly angling my mirror down so I can see my tire

I actually discovered this forum from this post when googling a solution after getting my truck. Ordered a set of the Nxtgen Extended View right away and put them on yesterday evening when I got home. They are a really high quality piece. Very clear and a nice size. Did you put one on the drivers side??? If so please post a pic of location on mirror.

Yes, I have the blindspot lights so I bought the 2 pack that goes on the lower corners. It's a cool design because if you flip them around, they also perfectly fit on the top part too. But that would cover the lights. It's also a great view on the bottom, you see the rear tires well, curb, lines, etc.

I don't have my truck at work today. I put the driver one and then after the passenger, decided to snap a picture. Here is a screen grab of their instructions online. Take a look when you go to install, but the mirrors are engraved with a 1 and two and then each side has a,b,c,d. Really easy to line the sides up as they show. So my picture of the passenger side is the mirror marked 1 and side A goes out and side B goes down. Hope that helps.

Thx for the reply. I saw these instructions when I ordered mine, just curious as to how actual install looked on drivers side. If you can post a pic later when you get time.

Will try to remember, it is absolutely identical though, just reversed. Everything looks and fits the same over there.

I see those spot mirrors are not very expensive. I think only the drivers side really needs one as the passenger side mirror has the extended field of view mirror on it. But the drivers side has a large blind spot in stock form. A spot mirror would be helpful and much safer.

I have actually found the passenger side pretty useful. You get a great view of the rear tire, lines and curbs. It’s nice for parking. Really wide trailers might block a lot but for a lot of towing it would be rather useful. Same if you have big objects in the bed blocking the rear mirror. You see a lot in that passenger one that you’d also see in the center. In my last truck I had a tri fold hard bed cover you could lock in the up position to have the whole bed. I’m going to get a similar one for the Sierra. When up it fully blocked the rear window so this would have helped to get a similar view as the side and center mirror in one spot.

That's a good point about the passenger side being helpful pulling a trailer. I pull a 16' enclosed job trailer nearly daily, and would like to have a better view behind it. Have considered getting the factory trailering mirrors, but don't like the looks of them. Plus the extra cost. The spot mirror on both the driver and passenger side might be the answer. For $25 to $30, not an expensive gamble to take on the spot mirrors. I don't particularly like the looks of them... but the benefit would outweigh that.
