the Duramax. Didn't think I was going anywhere today, so I didn't plug in the trucks. Winter cold has hit again. It 19° and feels like 1°F.

I forgot about the electric heat strips these trucks have! Running for a minute and vents are blowing 100°!

Huh? What electric heat strips? Am I missing something?

No, I don't think so. Maybe just how to use it.

Turn the temp knob up to high. That's it. Well, the computer has a play in it. Like outside temp, engine temp, etc.

But if it's cold enough to have the heater on and the engine isn't producing heat yet, they will come on.

@pinebaron

Here is the "official" rules from the body builders manual! 😁

Now you know why the Duramax has 2 batteries besides cranking and what some of those high amp fuses are for! There are things that aren't known/taken into consideration when you make the decision to buy the HD's with the 6.6D. I like to call them fringe benefits! 😇

What else you wanting to know? 🤓

@pinebaron

I think the HD AEV edition comes with the trunk/bed monkey. I cannot find any info online nor in the OM. I have no personal knowledge, sorry, cause I bought the trucks before AEV was a thing and I didn't need a big lifted truck. 😉

You know what they say...if'n you have a big lifted truck, you're making up for having a small di~~!

ETA...C'mon you bastards, thats funny right there, it's just a joke! Don't get your panties in a wad and flood my direct message box!

I'll check out if my truck has it; front L/R temperature controls are digital and the few times I've driven or started in sub-zero temperatures I may not have noticed since I usually prestart and preheat the truck else be told off by you know who :)

So if I am reading this correct the 1500's do not have that option?? Dang, Love learning something every day.

With 26 degrees outside today, I was able to check mine; its not installed for sure.

I will see if I can track down the body builder manual for the refresh. Maybe that was another thing eliminated.

It's still in the '26 models 2500/3500...

But I learned something. It's an option, look for C32 on you RPO codes sheet...

Nope mine does not have C32; I believe I'm limited to use of engine block heater to achieve the same result however it needs to be plugged in, whilst C32 would work anywhere :(
