Installed the Bilstein 5100's today along with the RAS system.

Test drove it after the shocks. Didn't really help on the washboard gravel roads.

Installed the RAS and drove the same path. Absolutely flew through the washboards.

Drove the AT4hd to town with the wife for supper. She asked "What was changed on the truck?"

She wants the RAS on the 1500 she stole from me.

Older women...won't tell, don't swell and are grateful as hell.

Have you ever towed with these? I have. 3.5ton excavator and with my trailer I’m right at towing capacity. Wondering if this is worth it for better ride while towing.

Yes, but not in your normal towing conditions. Conventional tow rating is 18.5k and I would estimate this setup is 16.2k and top heavy. It's all rural towing with 45mph tops...

They help with the squat and hitting badger holes, I don't believe it has hit the bump stops.

Towing a CAT 257D on a 14k tilt trailer is more enjoyable, parking it in the same spot on the trailer.

Good morning, I can see the RAS upgrade. I have had it on previous trucks and it worked great.
But why the new shocks? Were the stock ones just worn out or were you not happy with the ride?

Just trying to get a better ride and gm spec'ed Ranchos aren't it. I recycled the Ranchos to the ton dually. Nothing really helps the ride of an empty dually though! 😂

True, these trucks alway ride better loaded.
Do you goose or 5th wheel at all? How does the GMC handle with that?
I don’t really find the stock ride so bad…..at the moment. Granted it is pretty harsh on the Louisiana roads. On dirt I am usually slow enough that it isn’t an issue.

Haven't had to hook up the gooseneck trailer. Use the fat butt for it.

Oh, won't you take me home tonight
Oh, down beside your red fire light
Oh, you gonna give it all you got
Fat bottomed girls
You make the rocking world go round

I’m old and couldn’t help it.

I'm so close to getting the RAS but I just want more tangible data. We tow a 28ft travel trailer and it doesn't need any WDH to be level but I'm concerned if we bump up to a 34-35ft fifth wheel this won't be quite enough and I'll have to get air bags. I really don't want air bags.

We tow a 35ft 5th wheel. Granted its light, but I have zero rear suspenion mods and it does NOT squat the truck anymore than it should. Truck sits great.

You will never look back after you get a 5th wheel. SOOO much easier than a bumper pull.

I'm trying to zoom in on your photo but cant quite make out the details. What reflection is that, we're looking at a 298BH or something similar. And do you have a 2500 or 3500?
