I have seen a few posts of people upgrading the shocks on the AT4s.
Just curious to why? Any issues? Just going to lift?
I haven't had any issues, wondering if I should keep an eye on something???

Thank you 👍🏻
I believe the main reason for people upgrading the shocks is to increase ride quality (y)

Amazing picture of your rig!

I put the Icon 2.0 remote reservoir shocks on my rear I like that when hit rough spots in the road the rear of the truck doesn’t jump sideways and now going around corners the body roll is gone is more of a sporty feel. With the icons the harder you run the truck the better it handles with how they valved the suspension.

Got ya.👍🏻 Thanks.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one that feels the rear step out on rough roads.
(This is my first full size truck, so new to the experience)
Good info. I am also a "spirited driver" and would like to keep it more level in the corners 👍🏻

When I took the stock Rancho’s off it takes no force at all to compress them by hand. I know a lot of guys seem to really like to Bilstein shocks but they was kinda hard to find at the time I bought mine not sure about now but anything Icon, King of course Fox I ran on a Jeep where really nice, I’ve ran some Rough Country shocks on a Ram and a Jeep and they get there name honest because that’s the ride you’ll get. I think you could even get a real Rancho shock and they are good because all the ones they put on are trucks are nothing more than a cheap white body shock with a sticker just like a Pro Comp or Skyjacker or any other budget shock.

Respect, understand..👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Any chance you can post a link to where you got yours, and maybe some part numbers? I know probably a lot of dudes (myself included) intend to do this mod, and your link(s) could really help make that easier.
I think they are back in stock. Got rear with bilsteinlifts and front from 4wheelparts.

Haven't had mine jump sideways until this past weekend doing 80 mph on I-80 in Wyoming. They had some potholes they attempted to patch right at the transition to a bridge. It had to jump 1-2 feet to the side and defiantly made me pucker. The rest of that 2,000 mile trip was fine.

Only time its happened in 5k miles I put on my 2020. It does have around 42k miles on it with original shocks and new tires.

I bought the 5100 Bilstein front and back but so far I have only installed the rear 11800km/7380 m total.

When I removed the Ranchos they immediately expanded to full length so they do have some gas charge.

I have driven my AT4 on several trips by itself and pulling about 3500 lbs. on a light tandem trailer and have noticed no improvement in ride quality in either case. IMO save your money and replace the Ranchos when they are worn out or you have changed the suspension to something that requires new shocks.;)
