Hi, I’ve had my new 2022 refresh for a week now. I bought out of state. Im coming from a bmw and mercedes. I am used to how they smoothly they shift. I can’t even tell.
With the new truck i can tell when it shifts and it doesn’t seem very smooth. Is this just how these trucks shift or is this a problem? I read on the forums how smoothly they shift and wondering if im being too picky?? Like if im going up a small hill it doesn’t seem to know what gear to be in. Shifts up and then back down.

I have 8900 miles on my truck and it shifts very smooth- unloaded or loaded!

Thank you for the reply. I took it by the local Gmc dealer yday and told him it was kind of shuttering on low speed shifts. The service manager said “ they all shift that way.” “It’s a rough shifting transmission “ … i was pissed. Tomorrow im doing a ride aling with their ‘transmission guy’ . Not too optimistic about this dealership.

Take it somewhere else! He’s full of Bullonee!

I’m noticing some rough shifting too, I think it’s the new transmission learning driving styles. Going to wait until 5k miles to see if it gets better

Did a ride along with the transmission guy at my local dealer. Of course it shifted pretty well on short drive. He said he thinks it’s the dfw system kicking in periodically. Sound feasible? It’s mainly small shuddering between 25-40.

Can you guys feel your truck’s dfm kick in when going up a hill at 20-40 mph? Just wondering if that is what im feeling or if he’s blowing some smoke at me

Guessing you have the 6.2? I have the duramax and it’s really smooth. You can tell if you are looking for it, or if you are going really slow, but normal driving and getting on it, it’s smooth.

mine shifts smoothly....only thing I don't care for is that when you accelerate fast and then let off.....the rpms just sort of float and stay high...while the 10 speed is figuring out what gear to short shift into.

Yes i have the 6.2. Im coming from a 2012 bmw and a 14 mercedes that didn’t have the dfm… if that’s what it is , it will take a little while to get used to it.

I notice that as well Riverdog. I can get on the lil 3.0 and run it up to what ever speed and when you let off it will drop down to around 2 grand and hang there and then finally drop on down. Seems like it takes a while.

It’s funny you say that… I took it to another dealer today and he drove it back to back with another new truck and it was the same. He said the same thing to put it in the L9
