While patiently waiting on my 22 refresh to come in I'm getting ideas in line for mods i'll need to do. Have you all found it's necessary to protect the rocker panel with anything to prevent excessive paint chips and discoloring at the bottom of the cab? If so, what did you go with?

I passed on the steps, which some would say add protection, but I do not like the look with them.

I’m waiting for mine as well. My neighbor has a Ram TRX and he did the PPF around the bottom half of the truck. He does some off roading and he has a cabin with a long rocky dirt road and the truck still looks brand new. I’ll probably do the same application if mine ever comes in.

I got my truck in Nov. already at 11500 miles. I put go rhino running boards on it. Have driven some off road and snow, but mainly highway.
the only place I have chips is the lower part of the front bumper.
if I were going to protect anything over again, it would be that piece.

thanks guys for the feedback! i'll probably keep a close eye on that rocker panel and decide if I need something or not!

Hey guys just taking on my thread here. Does the 6.2 V8 require premium fuel? Talking with some truck guys over the weekend and i'm now torn between the V8 and the diesel for gas mileage, reliability and especially if the V8 requires more costly gas I may just go diesel.

93 is recommended but not required. Performance is better with 93 and gas mileage very minimal increase . Kind of a matter of preference on what octane level you choose to run. An average daily driver would probably not notice the difference in 93 and 87.

What do you use?
