I know the norm is to raise the front end to get the truck level, but has anyone lowered the rear to get level? I am fine with the stock front ride height, and now don't plan to run 35" tires and will be sticking with the stock 275/60 size. I know it should be way easier to do the rear, as it should only need new shackles to achieve it. What say you guys?

No new parts needed, just flipped the block to the top of springs. Truck sits level- put on 285/70/18’s (34.1 tall) no cutting, no rubbing, no issues

Couldn't you also just remove the block and use shorter U bolts? I am definitely going to have to look into this. Any vibration from the rear end since you did this?

Yes Sir you could, I just flipped it because- well to be honest, got into it with out having new shorter u-bolts on hand and also, gave me a place to “store” the block and know where it is so if I or new owner wants to put it back- here it is.
No vibration or any issues at all with doing it as that goes. The only negative I have found is when I put a trailer behind it or heavy load in it, the squat is a little more noticeable

Thank you! I don't tow or haul anything, so I won't have to worry about that. I am glad I ain't the only one who was thinking about this...lol.

On another note, are you running the factory 18's with no spacers?

I regretted leveling my 1/2 ton. It looks great until you have any load in the back. Even a couple hundred pounds. You go down the road looking like an Alabama squatter with its nutz draggin' down the road.

Yes Sir, stock wheels, no spacers. I am like you, very rarely have heavy load or tow- got a farm truck for that now. I have also had no issues in the mud/ woods with rubbing.

Easy now- it is called a Carolina squat. LOL. Row Tide By Gawd

Yes, sad to say it is the Carolina Squat and I live in NC. I hate tinting those damn trucks that come into the shop. That has to be the single dumbest fad that has ever been created!

They didn't. They can't see shit. As dangerous as other things are, this is far more dangerous in my opinion because they can't see.

I don't think the courts decided who owns that yet. :) *Carolina and Alabama will have to fight that out....maybe by chaining them bumper to bumper to see who has more power (aka better traction in the real world). dumbasses. LOL.

btw, I heard "Alabama Squatter" from a group of Alabama lineman that came up here after an ice storm to fix power lines. I have no idea what part of the state they were from. They were saying that when I massive piece of equipment was dropped in the back of a Toyota Tundra, and the tires and suspension blew out when creeping over a curb to get on the road. Quite comical situation. Never knew it was a Carolina thing.

Last time I was in NC in the 90's, "the thing" was VW Beetles built out to the max. They were everywhere. Tailpipes sticking out 4 feet. Huge back tires. It was f'ing ridiculous.

I recently lowered my AT4X by getting smaller lift blocks. On paper it should have been an inch lower, but it lowered it a little over an inch. After I get some 285/70 tires, I'll see if I just want to remove the block completely. I personally wouldn't mess with the shackles when removing the block is super easy. If you have never done it before, it's pretty easy. Just do one side at a time. make sure you seat the rear end properly in the leaf pack, and have your U bolts aligned and torque those nuts.

I did the same, a smaller block first. Still didn’t like it- so went back and took it out. Just made twice the work for me😂😂😂. Bout my normal luck
