I was hoping to find information on what people are being told as far as pricing and msrp of ordering a new refreshed 1500 that they put a reservation on. I am new to the area so I put the dealer that would be most convenient for me on my reservation. The dealer contacted me this week that I was first on the reservation list and it would be $2500 above msrp to order the truck. I didn’t like how gmc made you reserve with a specific dealer and now will start talking to other dealers to order with and try to negotiate better than what I was offered. Anyone else have any thoughts or insight into this?

Yea - I ran into this same practice but amplified when I bought my AT4. Multiple dealers in the area charging over MSRP - I added them to a list to not do business with in the future. I was also looking to use GM Supplier discounts - and finding a dealer that honored that was even harder.
I ended up driving 3.5 hours to get my truck at dealer that took supplier pricing, was getting the truck I wanted (no one was taking stock orders or if they were it was 6 months out) and not charging over MSRP. Unfortunately they didn't participate in GM rewards points thing and I didn't know that when I purchased. Oh well.

I ordered/reserved my place in line for an AT4 3500 back in October. I had spoken to 2 dealers in the Denver metro area and they were both charging $5000 over msrp, plus requiring a $5000 deposit to order/reserve. Found a dealer in Greeley (1.5 hours from me) that was only taking a $500 deposit, and selling at msrp. Also, when truck comes in, if GM is running any incentives, I should get those too.

I hope GMC comes down hard on these dealers charging over sticker for 'market price adjustments'. It gives both the dealer and the brand a bad image in the eyes of the buyer, which hurts the company as a whole.
My list of dealers around me who were charging more and not accepting GM provided discounts is forever saved, and I'll never do business with them because of their bad business practices during a pandemic.

I thought GM came down on these dealers basically telling them they were jeopardizing their contracts by doing this? My refreshed AT4 will be MSRP less any offers at the time of delivery. I only paid the $100 reservation fee.

Did anyone see the news today on GM Authority regarding price increases ? Looks like the AT4 and AT4X
went up $1100 ? I'm wondering if you had an order in the system at 1100 or greater if GM will price protect ? They did this a few times on the Corvette C8.

I had heard it and unfortunately discovered it’s true as I realized my dealer screwed me. I had ordered on Feb 4th and thought all was good. I had my workbench order all printed. Every time I checked with GMC they told me my order was 0500 which was weird. My dealer assured me it was submitted. On March 2nd I made two changes to my order and when my dealer sent me the printout of the update it had a totally different order number which when checked with GM is at 1100. As I looked at the price on the newer order it was about $1900 more than my original when it should have been $800 more based on my change. I’m guessing when I made the change the dealer realized he messed up and submitted a new order which gave me the new higher price. Not only did I lose 4 weeks of lead time my price is now higher. I’ll be calling in the AM because as far as I’m concerned they need to honor my original price sine they messed it up. I know easier said than done.

Just as I figured. Dealer never submitted original order I built on Feb4 so it sat in 0500. Created and submitted new order on Feb 25th hence new order number and price increase. I can accept a screw up as long as they honor the price but he also lied to me that the order was submitted.

Just called my dealer on my AT4 3500, and the order is good to go, and a production date of 3/28 has been set. I should have it end of April/early May! Way faster than the 4-8 months they originally quoted. Maybe things are looking up and production will start catching up for all models!!!
