Took delivery about 2 weeks ago for my 2024 gmc 2500 at4 diesel. Just hit 1k miles and check engine light came on. I tried doing the remote start and that isn’t working either. Bringing the truck to the dealership on Monday. I’ll keep everyone posted but from what I’ve read this seems to be a common problem.

You could try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to reset and try again. I’m not saying it’s a for sure fix but worth a try if you don’t want to wait. Is the battery in the key fob good? I know it’s new but maybe worth a look.

In my experience the remote start does not work when there is a CEL. Get the CEL fixed and the remote start should work just fine again.

Ya I tried the spare as well. You can hear the truck making clicking noises when I try the remote start. The person who posted below said the CEL won’t allow the auto start turn on. Makes sense I guess lol

Do you have an OBDII reader? Codes can be displayed and sometimes are minor enough that you can wait to get it fixed. Codes could also be intermittent then go away after a few drive cycles.

I have the same truck. Mine came on at 255 miles. Went out and then came back on again at 400 miles. At about 550 mi it went back out again. Have an appointment at the dealership Wednesday.. Had it coded by a friend. P22FB was the code.

I am having the same issue, 2024 1500 duramax at 2300 miles. Did you find a solution to the problem?

The remote start will not work when there is a Check Engine Light (CEL) on.

These 3.0l diesels have a low tolerance for emissions issues, so a loose clamp or sensor can be the cause for an Emission Issue CEL. Worth having the dealership take a look though if you are under warranty. That way it's documented and a free repair for you.

Remote start will not work when a check engine light is on….i bet they need to flash the computer with a bug fix and all will be good.
