Howdy! I do a lot of outdoor activities all year long and most times we are starting predawn and after sunset thus preferring to be able to turn on the bed light remotely. I currently use several of boost auto's light mods but those just turn all lights on in reverse/unlock (which is nice and bright). I'm looking to turn the bed lights on (with the boost auto mod it turns all of my reverse lights on) without having to go into the cab to activate. Thus leading me to my question if there are any mods to be able to remotely activate the bed lights while in the bed of the truck. Seems kind of silly why GM would not put a switch in the bed of the truck where you would actually need it to turn on the bed lights?!?!

Have 3 of these. The 2500 and the 3500 have a hole already that just needs to be enlarged for the switch. The 1500 is a carbon pro bed, so I can't say if the 1500 beds would have this hole.

How did you remove light , seems like it has the spray bed around edges?

Never mind , take tail light off
So I installed mine last night , first off my package came in a ziplock bag like someone returned it, but everything was there, you have to take off tail light to access to cargo light , I did driver side , they have a hole exposed inside tailgate for switch, seemed like the plug that went into light wasn’t right but it does reach the prongs. i mocked up the wiring to make sure it works before final fit . Dropped wire into bed made connection to wrong wire ( solid red wire for adapter for kicker speakers in tailgate) the stock plug is red with green stripe . Drilled hole with 1/2” drill bit and had to team it a bunch after finishing. It only does bed lights, not cargo light on cab and not lights on step for tailgate, in all I like it, because easy acc. But I do have swing tool box so it covers 1 light.

Did one switch do both lights?

Installed the same switch and also added 2 2’ long LED strip lights. Using the bed mounted switch turns all on. My swing case blocks one of the OEM as well. The strip lights give way more light output in the bed. Just another idea if you are looking for more light and want control in the bed with the truck off.
