AT4 WEST

First time poster, long time reader.
So long story short I traded my 21' RST/Z71/5.3L/SSM on a 23' AT4/LZ0/VRT in January.
I made a deal with the dealer to swap the factory AT4 wheels/tires with my OEM steelies/snows as I have a summer setup and realistically I would just end up selling the factory wheels/tires and buying another set of snows, Canada Eh.
Anywho, I thought because the tpms frequencies would be the same, it would he a headache free swap.... on both sets, not the case.
I have had an Autel TS508 tool for years now and could'nt for the life of me get the sensors to learn to the truck or program etc, had to wait 6 months for Autel to update software to include 2023s. GM in their infinite wisdom changed the sensor IDs or the way the truck picks them up etc etc from prefresh to refresh, handy as another hole in my head right?
To note ive searched the internet high and low for a definitive answer on what sensors work and dont/what GM did.
So, Autel updated their software (woo), I wasnt sure what sensors were in my summer setup so I plugged in, tried to scan under the 2022.5 - 2023 listing, tool cant get into the ECU at all, weird. Figured the sensors werent compatibile anyways, big deal.
Got playing around with the different options and selected GMC Yukon from the OBD Relearn/Copy menu and it is able to access and read the factory sensor IDs in the ECU. I picked up 4 Autel MX sensors from PA yesterday as they are on sale for $40/each and was able to copy the original sensor IDs to the new MX sensors and the truck did indeed pick them all up.
Now to get them swapped out/installed, see what is in there for sensors and if theyll work in the snows or not, if they wont I will be buying 4 more MX sensors for the winter.
So moral of the story, MX sensors will work on the refreshed trucks, you just have to treat it as a Yukon. Other than needing to have an Autel Tool to program them, this is a cost effective option vs. buying from the dealer.
