At the beginning of this winter I noticed my defrost on the rear slider wasn’t working, the other 2 windows still worked. Took it to the dealer in December and it was rainy and 50+ degrees, so they “couldn’t troubleshoot it”. I’m sure they have procedures, but a hand on the glass would have helped.
On Thursday, I opened the rear window and heard something dragging. Looked at it when I got home and sure enough the contacts that are supposed to be soldered to the slider were no longer connected.
I took it to the dealer on Friday and they have to replace the entire rear window. Parts should arrive in 7-10 days and then a 2 day install. A local glass company is handling the glass and gm techs are disassembling the headliner, third brake light assembly and back seat. They are supposed to do a “water leak test” on the second day, so I am hoping it doesn’t have issues down the road.
First major problem with my truck (knock on wood), 23k miles and 2.5 years old. Still love my truck, not complaining just sharing.
