I cannot locate that info anywhere in the owners manual. I have used Valvoline 75w90 full synthetic in past gmc trucks. I have some left over in hand. I did locate the amount of 3.9 QTs with a google search. I’m at 18750 miles figured I’d change it first time which is a little later than I usually do on first change.

Well go look under your truck before you go spend $50+ in oil to only find out it has no drain bolt only a fill bolt. So on this over priced GM jewel the pan cover has to be pulled to change the oil. Thanks GM for going back 40 years on the design! My past 2016 Duramax 2500 had a drain bolt. And all of my junk Toyota Tundras had drain bolts.

Ain't that the truth. There is a flat boss on the bottom of the diff. gm just forgot to drill and tap for a plug. Lazy bastards.

The diff cover gasket is reusable, just takes more work and time to drop the oil, having to loosen the cover.

I was just shopping for an oem gasket seems reasonable at $15 plus shipping and what ever they tack on.

I was looking at picking up this one but haven’t searched to make sure it will fit the 1500 at4x trucks. Anyone have any experience with this one yet?

Negative. The diffs are coded G80, but that's all the LD and HD's have in common.

Ended up buying an oem cover gasket from GM. Used a few of my rewards points and I’m only out the $3 bucks in state tax. Pick it up at dealership I bought the truck at. In fact it’s probably in stock even though the online info said Oct 3 thru Oct 6. I would think they stock these things given the fact there is no drain bolt. A big fail by GM imo. Haven’t looked at the front diff cover it’s buried behind a huge skid plate. I’m not even bothering with that my trucks only been in 4wd once on a grass slope with a little 6x10 trailer behind it. It was in 4wd maybe 10’. I’ve never used a locker on it either. I’ll worry with the front diff at 30k miles, maybe.

It's going to be the same type of cover up front after you take the skid plate off. I did both at 1000 miles on my hd
