I have a ‘24 1500 that has developed a rattling noise. Actual location is hard to tell. At times it seems to be behind the dash in the steering column/computer area. Other times it will sound as if it’s in the lower part of the dash ahead if the console. The rattle is completely random. I have cycled the air settings countless times and it’s still random. it doesn’t do it more or less with it on hi low med defrost or footwell. It does it in park at an idle and while driving. It does seem to possibly do it more if hitting bumps in the road. Sometimes faint and sometimes will almost sound as if it’s a fluid that’s leaking
I tried search previous forums with no luck. I have a video that you should be able to hear it
EDIT: After scouring the internet and other forums, a few threads said to check harnesses and outside the cab around the transmission.
Outside the cab? There's no way this loud rattle can be outside the truck! Well, I recently had a trans installed and decided to crawl under there. The O2 connector has been twisted and rubbing the trans tunnel (paint removed) AND FOR NOW THE NOISE IS GONE!!!
