I have had a rattle coming from my back seat since the day I purchased the truck about a year ago. It does not seem to be coming from the door, like a speaker or something, but more from the backseat itself. Not sure if it's the bottom or the top portion. I sat back there one day while my wife drove around but I did not hear the router at all. I think once you're sitting in the seat, the rattle goes away. It sounds like a loose piece of metal lightly tapping against something else but I'm driving and going over a little bumps. Anybody else have this issue?

Have you opened the little seat back cubbies? Just to make sure there's 1) nothing in there and 2) it's closed solidly after?

On each side of the backseat underneath, there are weighted mechanisms against the sidewall where the bottom portion of the seat hinges with the top section. They are silver, hang downward from the pivot-point and have a wider flare at the bottom. With your seats in the up position, these mechanisms are locked and they are supposed to be locked when the seat is down also. After stuffing my gun into the underseat storage, it prevented the bottom of the seat from reaching the lock position and I searched for this rattle for about a week. My solution was to put rubber bands around the weighted metal “hang-down mechanisms” to eliminate the rattle. That was my experience, and perhaps that is the rattle you hear.

I took mine to the dealer and they removed the upright section of the seat from the back of the cab and put rubber on the bracket where the seat locks into when they slide it back down. This stopped the rattle on the drivers side, but for some reason they didn’t do the passenger side and now I have to take it back.

Also, I’ve had the rattle since day on on a 2023 model. Build quality is really going down. The seatbelt real on the drivers side has now started rattling.

Let me know what they do for the seat belt retractor. Mine also makes a rattling noise and is annoying since it’s right in your ear.

This was my solution. It does effect the function of the seat locking and unlocking from the upright position; you have to reach under and help jiggle that component if it does not seem to be cooperating.

Thank you so much, you fix my issue that I've been dealing with for about a year now. Very helpful very great that we have places like this where we can talk about the good things about our trucks and help others.

I just wanted to log in and tell you thank you thank you thank you!!!! I have a 2024 AT4 HD and recently had a JL audio stealth box installed and my seats in the rear don't completely go to the seated down position. They are close to all the way down but just not quite. Well those little latches weren't locking and the rattle..............only on sharp bumps........but still that rattle...........I had the rear seat out and did tie up and padded everything I could back there............still........rattle...........moved the jack to a job box in my bed...........still a rattle.........then I stumble on your post and BAM!!!!! 100% quiet not a rattle shake or anything. I was going absolutely bonkers.........this did the trick. I put a piece of rubberized pad with adhesive backing on one side behind that lever and it is working out slick. Its a little pain to lower the seat as I have to reach under there and move the item in your picture up over my pad to get the seat to drop. But once down its perfect. Thank you for bringing my sanity back!! Hopefully your post helps others..........it saved me buddy so thank you!!

I'm so glad you figured it out!!! I posted this original thread thinking no one's going to know what the heck I'm talking about. But I'm so glad others had the same issue and that's somebody solved it. Well I was so happy when I fix it after a year of that damn rattle. It was driving me crazy I did so much work trying to take the back seats out and mess with stuff but could never figure it out. So thank you for letting me know it helped I'm glad everything worked out.

You bet............your fix worked amazing and made total sense to me. Really you saved my truck...........lol........that rattle drove me crazy and made me avoid driving my new truck because of that stupid rattle. It was soooooo annoying!! So again thank you. I applied your fix the other night..........went for a drive no rattle and I was giddy like a little kid.........got back to the shop pulled the truck in and cracked a beer........my wife came out and was like......what are you so happy about........lol........it was that obvious :) Hopefully this fix will help out others with the same problem. I appreciate you posting up your fix. Have a great day and a fun and safe weekend ahead! Cheers!

im sorry where is this located at ?

I also had the issue when I barely over packed the little compartment. I may need to upgrade to the bigger storage.

I also thought I had one behind the dash, took me a week to find out it was the cover above the rear view mirror.
